prehaps they will live upto Craig Pollocks original promise of winning the Championship the first year they entered F1 ....

    Never forgot the joke from few years ago when BAR were really struggling;

What's the difference between BAR and a tooth pick ?

    a toothpick has two points

Is anyone able to help me out?

It's the first A1GP race on Sunday and I really want to see it, however, I don't have Sky nor do I have broadband access at home to do any fancy 'torrenting' of a recording

Suggestions of how I can watch this or if anyone knows if the highlights are getting repeated on any freeview channel?

      Here's the schedule from Sky

Date ----------Curcuit and Country ------------Races/Qualifying ----Channel/Time
Sat, Sep 24 ---Brands Hatch, Great Britain -----Qualifying -----------SS3 2pm
Sun, Sep 25 --Brands Hatch, Great Britain ------Sprint/Feature -------SS1 3pm

You can use an app called Sopcast which allows streaming of TV over the net. It will be shown on Star Sports which is a Chinese channel. If you can put up with Chinese commentary, give it a go.

EDIT: I notice you don't have ADSL so maybe not then.

I doubt the pubs will be showing a motor race, surely it'll all be footy.

Peanuts, that sounds ideal but unless I come to work to watch it (which isn't going to happen) I doubt my dial up at home will handle that

Yep, probably. I use it for F1 as it's live. It's watchable but still not as good as telly of course.

F*&kin pubs... Last year I went to Glasgow's Sports Cafe to watch one of the prime time GPs (Indy/Canada/Brazil, can't remember which).. they have a BAR chassis in pride of place above the stairs, about 4 large projection screens and countless TVs dotted about the place. You'd think they'd be happy to show the F1 right? Wrong ><

There was a football match on later in the day (kick off AFTER the race) and every single one of the big screens was showing the build up for this. On the smaller screens that weren't showing MTV they were showing cricket, and *street-luge*.

AARGH it makes me angry even now.

F1 is a minority interest sport though. It will never attract the same sort of crowd as Footie, Rugby and Cricket, but that's life.

                    More minority interest than street-luge?????

I actually disagree - the only 2 events that draw larger audiences than a Formula 1 GP are the Olympics, and the World Cup. And they only happen once every 4 years.

really surprised BBC didn't pick up any A1 highlights, prehaps ITV or C4 will show some late night during the week ? don't have Sky Sports either myself, and can't see A1 getting good coverage on the "normal" news

a1gp.com has live updates but it's not quite the same is it.

A1 GP is a pure Sky marketing scam, it's little more than a low level formula series being marketed as the next big thing. It's no better than that ridiculous Premier GP concept they had. If you want this kind of racing, watch Formula BMW or something! Better than supporting Sky ><

Well done Alonso, a worthy World Champion. Although I must admit I was hoping he would spin off to take it down to the wire.

DC off again in the first lapft:

A1 was a bloody joke. I was quite excited to see a new championship that would be fun to watch during the winter months when the likes of F1 and Moto GP were no longer on, this is not it. The coverage is atrocious, really, really awful. The racing isn't much better. Brands Hatch admittedly isn't the best circuit for much overtaking but it was so poor. The sprint race was very dull, and whilst the feature race was eventful it was still very poor as the events had nothing to do with driver skill. It was either down to stupid driver errors (which there were lots) or the most inept pit crews ever assembled. Piquet Jr looks a class act but the rest of the field really aren't up to much. It will be interesting to see how it fares on other circuits but as a championship it doesn't look good.

Back to F1, I have been really bored of it this season and it isn't just because I am an MS fan :P. Whilst the championship has not been decided until later in the season it was still a pretty uncompetitive championship with one car dominating each race, and the way the cars are now set up means overtaking is down to a minimum. Good luck to Alonso who is a great driver, but I do hope next season we get some better racing. I would also love to see a return to 10 points for a win and 6 for second place. I know why the current system was introduced but champions should go out and race rather than play the numbers game and protect their total.

Well done Fernando. Throughly deserved and that's at least one record that will stay out of the hands of a certain German. The poor boys at Mclaren must be wondering if they can ever kill the fly in the ointment that is Fernando.

They get podiums but he is always there to ruin the party. The final races should be super now as the WCC is still up for grabs as Macca now have a two point lead.

It's sad to see, on various sites, the FA haters bashing him for using his brain to win the title, yet they fail to mention that their current poster boy was very nearly the '03 champ by doing the exact same thing. In 2003 KR won one race to MS's six yet came close due to consistency.

And the whole of Spain is probably going mad as we speak.
