    And that would be a very wise bet indeed. Any modern F1 car would wipe the floor with the Veyron and still have time for lunch afterwards. The Bugatti is fast in a straight line, but around the corners........Well that's another question.

        As a Nando fan I am starting to sweat. Ferrari seem to have the momentum at the moment, and the mass damper issue clearly hasn't helped Renault.

        A comment I read on another forum stated that if Ferrari can get close to FA, they can simply outspend Renault for the rest of the season in an all out bid for the WDC. The last person you want to be up against is MS, so unless Renault can turn it around sharpish, I fear that MS might just snatch the crown again.

          As a Schuey fan I am starting to get a little hopeful. Whatever happens, it looks like we could have a very interesting end to the season!

            Schumi fan here also, 11 points behind with six races left means it could easily go either way, can see second drivers coming into things, and I would certainly prefer Massa over Fisi as my number two. Either way, it's going to go 'til the last race or two which is good news spectator wise.

              Nice to see Kimi be able to do something today although the team seem determined to mess things up for him. Loved the way he breezed past Jenson to take third. Easily his best result of the season so far in terms of being able to perform the way we know he can.

              The Ferraris look a class apart at the moment, should make an exciting second half of the season.

                Also it's rumoured that an F1 car costs around 1 million to build. A veyron costs over 5 million. You can't really compare the two in my opinion no matter how good both machines are!
                You did read this post of mine too didn't you? Another Gordon Murray quote for you where he heaps praise on the car!! I was never trying to say that the Veyron was better than an F1 and obviously realise that it would be slaughtered round a track, I say as much in that post. It's just an interesting comparison that's all.

                Race was pretty good, glad Button finished and scored some points, shame he gave up so easily to Kimi in the end but I guess there was no point trying too hard when his pace was so slow at that stage.

                Thought that Fisi's mistake lap to allow Alonso to pass in the pit was very well done, looked like a real mistake but he really lost a lot more time than he should have that lap and what do you know, Alonso finishes ahead at the end.

                  Oh yeah, I followed the Veyron from when it was announced to when it was completed and two of the most outspoken critics were Clarkson & Murray and both reversed their opinions when they drove it.

                  That was my point, it's not really that supprising that a Veyron is faster as that's what it was designed to do. With 10 radiators, 16 cylinders, 2 V8's and 64 valves (Sorry if I'm wrong but that's my memory for you!) it's designed only to be the fastest car in the world. If a super car takes that away from it which a Barbus TKR may do then it'll have to fall back on just being a bloody good car.

                  Wheras an F1 car isint trying to be something to hit an arbituary figure it's just a bloody good, bloody fast car!

                    FIA OK the mass-damping device for future use (and no penalties for it's use previously), good news for Alonso and bad news for Schumacher.

                      Good news for Alonso but does anyone hate these kind of sneaky methods of racing?

                      I know F1 itself is built on advanced tech but stuff like this I really hate. Reminds me of Ferrai's un joined front wing and Mclaren's other brake pedal back in the day.

                        Wurz replaces Mark Webber at Williams for 2007 season. I wonder where Webber will end up now? He hasn't exactly set the world alight in the last few seasons and there don't appear to be that many top drives around for next season that would want him especially with Red Bull Racing intent on keeping Coulthard and partnering him with one of their proteges if Klien gets the boot.

                          It was on the cards, especially after reading how Webber was prepared to take a pay-cut to stay at Williams after this year. Good luck to Wurz though.

                          Williams are not exactly a top team at present, as they said on ITV, their reliability is so poor it places them (in terms of completed race laps this season) 10th out of 11 teams (Super Aguri are eleventh)

                            Well there is a seat at Renault, assuming that KR doesn't go there. Mclaren as well, but I am not sure if Flav will allow that, assuming that FA is still managed by Briatore(?)

                              Webber is managed by Briatore too though, that's def where my money is for him to get the seat if KR doesn't go there. Would be a great move for him if true. Could end up being a test driver role if Kimi does go to Renault though.

                                How did I miss that JV is injured and will miss the race this w/e? Kubica will race instead. Speculation is that JV may not return at all this season if ever again

                                It's all kicking off contract wise as well with KR rumored to have signed up for a 5 year deal with Ferrari I'll be shocked if that's true and MSc is staying next year, surely he'll retire this year if he wins the championship.

                                That also leaves the door conveniently open for Webber to go to Renault and his Dad has been dropping major hints.
