Rumours around that Mercedes are going to take over McLaren!!!

    Comment

The form in F1 would suggest that it's likely. Toyota,Honda, BMW, Renault, Ferrari. The age of the 'team' has passed. It will be sad to see the Macca name disappear and Ron Dennis as well. Let's just hope that if they do buy out the remaining 60%, they leave the Mclaren name in there somewhere, like BMW did with Sauber.

That story is ridiculous, it's the Mercedes engine that has caused a lot of McLaren's unreliability. It's a bit rich for Merc to turn around and say it's McLaren's fault.

Bought a DVD of the monaco 96 race off the 'bay and its fantastic! Remember bits from back in the day but I was like 12 when I saw it.

Wouldn't mind the full Belgium 98 race now, anyone know any good traders?

Your best bet would probably be an F1 forum.

Scathing attack on Schumi by JV, great to see him let rip now he has nothing to lose!

Most of it true and I agree with the majority, not so sure I would agree with the Senna/Prost incident comments but at least he was being honest and ballsy I guess.

Rossi second, Pedrosa third, Hayden ninth

Gap (to Rossi) down from 51 to 38 points and five races to go, going to be the closest season in years

                MotoGP standings:

                1. Nicky Hayden (US) Honda 201 pts
                2. Dani Pedrosa (Spain) Honda 176
                3. Valentino Rossi (Italy) Yamaha 163
                4. Marco Melandri (Italy) Honda 161
                5. Loris Capirossi (Italy) Ducati 151
Shame Capirossi had to miss a couple of races through injury.

FIA meeting today to decide on the outcome of the mass-dampening device and it's legality, could really affect Alonso's title challenge (even if it's found illegal, no penalties will be dished out for it's use at previous races). Bit more info on bottom half of this page.

Whatever the outcome, roll on Sunday

The FIA are a joke TBH. How can you decide that something is illegal 3/4 of the way through the season? And the outcome screws one of the WDC contenders.

I think Renault have a right to feel as though they have been ****ed over in cynical attempt to boost ratings. It was a wise decision then to dump the system in the last two races as otherwise they would lose their points due to the inevitable 'red protest'ft:

Just read on ITV website that they have signed a sponsorship deal with Shell. Please let it be effective immediately, I can't stand those bloody call centre chickens.

KR fastest in 1st practice too.

I feel that it is a cheeky attempt to go quicker as you are changing the way the car receives any bumps but the FIA should of at least realised this at the start of the season rather than just let it go this long then decide to pull a finger out.

Oh and I like those chickens, they were the only "fun" during the commericials! Apart from that absloutly lovely advert by Honda with the ages of Motorsport. Ahh, it makes you glad to be alive that mini film!

Can't even remember who the Insurance advertisier is but there are a load of chickens on the team pit wall and the driver radio's in something like "I'm coming in for tyres" and the pit wall says "please hold all out operators are busy please try again later" blah blah blah, sure you get the idea. Annoying after the first time you see it.
