Speaking of games, see there is a new Moto GP 07 game out on the PS2, why not PS3 Namco

Sony's F1 license ended with the 06 season, hence the lack of an 07 game.

I assume EA are getting the F1 rights if they've spent this much money on Hamilton. I'd prefer to see the license being sold to various companies though, a monopoly is never good, especially when EA are at the helm.

LH is going to rake it in over the next few seasons.

Definitely. I assume EA won't be sticking him on the cover in Spain though

Ah, I see. I never played any of EA's previous efforts, it seems they also had a license during some of Sony's years, I distinctly remember seeing an EA branded F1 2002 on the Gamecube at least.

I really enjoy F1 CE edition, I hope EA can make some worthy additions to the series, like bringing back the safety car! Also wouldn't mind seeing the parade lap restrictions removed (or at least make them an option), I'm mature enough to drive sensibly, honest!

You should be allowed to run your pit crew over by mistake too

I ran over the Ferrari pit crew yesterday, well, through them anyway. The car did slow down a bit, but I think that was maybe just to avoid the Ferrari that was also leaving exiting the pits. None of them seemed to even notice I'd ploughed right through them.

The biggest problem with F1 games, imo, is that they are not really fun. Video game racing is about being able do do things that are impossible in real life but F1 is such a technical sport so it ruins it.

the damage on f1 05 is rubbish.

Seems to be official now that Alonso is leaving McLaren in an early end to his contract.

No news yet on who will sign him though.

Surely it'll have to be someone with deep pockets though to pay off his contract? Toyota seems the obvious/richest choice to me.

EDIT - the updated article now says that no finacial penalty to either party so I guess he could go anywhere. BBC also say Red Bull are favourites to get him, imagine that!!

Red Bull! Would he actually go there?

Whose in the running to take his seat at McLaren then? Button maybe? Would be cool.

Button is one person I just can't see there unfortunately, would love if he was. Others def out are Massa, Kimi, Alonso (obviously, ha!) but pretty much anyone else 'could' find there way into the car. Still think it'll be Heidfeld, Kovi or Rosberg myself. Imagine if they did a swap for DC

Oh and yeah, I think he would/should even go to Red Bull, the car is getting good, they just need the reliability. With him in it it'd be a top 6 car every time he could get it to the finish line I think.

I think it will be one of those you mentioned, I'd assume Mercedes will be pushing hard for a German driver alongside Hamilton.

I thought Red Bull had already signed on Webber and Coulthard for next year?

I'd think Renault would be his most likely destination, he knows the team and Flavio seems happy to take him back. No doubt Toyota will throw millions at him, but I don't think that would be the right move for him. I see nothing to suggest they will ever build a championship challenging car.

Really? From Honda? That is a team I'd suggest he doesn't go to. Would add fuel to the Ruebens getting demoted to Super Aguri next year rumour though.

                              Edit:

They have, that seems to count for **** all these days in F1 though. Alonso was contracted till '09 remember.

Bit of a shame in my opinion - Would liked to have seen Alonso try again next season at Mclaren.

It will be interesting to see who Mclaren replace him with, and it will also now be a real test of what Hamilton is about if he hasnt got a more experienced team mate who has the techincal ability Alonso was giving.

There is also mention of Ferrari paying out Massa's contract, even though he just re-signed - Alonso can go pretty much where he wants.
