I am not sure what is so funny about the thought of JB beating LH. I did say if he puts his mind to it.

One year ago, if you told me that LH would score the same amount of points in his first season as his 2xWDC teammate, I would have laughed, and very loudly indeed. This year has shown that anything is possible in F1 given the right circumstances. I am not a fan, but JB is fast and smooth and generally doesn't make mistakes under pressure. He seems to lack the killer instinct though which you need to make to the top step.

That was because Hamilton was an unknown entity though, so you had no expectation of how he would fair. We are fully aware of Button's ability. His performances in previous years gave no indication he was at Alonso's level, so if Hamilton can tie with Alonso in his debut season in the same car, I fail to see how Button could beat Hamilton.

Glock for Toyota is the latest rumour doing the rounds - I think it is looking more and more likely that Alonso is going to have one season at a lower team, and then move to Ferrari for 2009.

I still wouldn't be surprised to see Massa bought out of that new Ferrari contract before next season though.

By the way, Button had a great car in 2004 and more often than not he went backwards on his grid position - The fact remains that a winning team hasn't been interested in picking him up, which says a lot about where the F1 paddock place Button.

I think it depends on Massa's performances next year. If he is useless, then that will give them the excuse they need to bring in Fernando but if he is WDC then then the door might be closed to a Ferrari/KR/FA dream team.

In case no-one knows of Planet F1 it's like the worst bits of the tabloid media and I'd estimate around 1% of their 'exclusive' stories can be in any way trusted and that's the 1% they were lucky to guess at correctly.

Yeah be great to see Schumacher/Hamilton/Kimi/Massa all in competitive cars, plus throw in Alonso and the BMW's and you have a F1 wet dream

Sutil might fit the bill if they can't get Rosberg. The paymasters in Stuttgart probably want a German in the car and Sutil will come cheap.

It would be amazing to see MS back in F1 but would he do it? He has a lot to lose if he goes up against LH and gets beaten. A year out of the sport is never a good idea unless you can walk into a championship winning car straight away, like Prost did in '93. JV's performances in the Renault a couple of years ago tell you all you need to know. He was up against FA though so got rightly trounced.

Despite that article quoting Schumi as saying he's no plans to return, I'm sure I saw him do an interview recently where he said he's not ruling it out, and mention other ex-F1 drivers like Hakkinen who are now involved in other motor sports.
