Success. Did 2 1/2 miles. It felt hard tp begin and end with with the middle stretch feeling easy. Having seen myself running in a window I've decided I really do need to make more effort. I look far too porky for my liking.

Some of it must be mental. I get within a few hundred metres of my house and suddenly I start feeling absolutely knackered!

I joined the gym a few weeks ago (it was the end of my second week yesterday). I really needed to lose weight so I thought I should join. It'll make me feel and look better, I can lose weight safely (I flat out refuse to join any dangerous crash diet fads - I'm losing weight on my own terms)
I've lost about 3 pounds so far iirc but I don't care too much about that yet. I feel SO much better in just two weeks and I have definitely lost about an inch on my waist - I look thinner, I feel thinner, and my favourite YSL jeans, which used to be a perfect fit, are now falling down

Looking a wee bit sleeker in the face which is goodA few days later that weight has gone, plus a little bit extra, so I'm currently below the weight I was when I started. But, like I said, that doesn't make too much sense since I feel like I've lost about half a stone

My calorie intake was too sporadic, not enough meals, not the right balance between prot/carb/fat; and to be honest a lot of days I was under eating before my diet.
Therefore when I started counting cals (well more less, not being that accurate but I'm experienced enough by now for everything to fall in to place) I was probaby eating more than I'd previously been, getting 2k-2.5k per day (have a habit of skipping my second meal / shake each day). Therefore, weight increase is expected until the metabolism levels off.

Was considering not dragging my arse out of bed this morning but I'm glad I did! I ran 3 1/2 miles *comfortably* - I could have done a lot more, I think. No idea if this was just because I ate loads of Chinese last night (carbs ahoy?) or wht, but it was a great feeling. It felt terrific. Hooray for me!

It's been a while since I posted in this thread.
Have been eating a lot and got my weight up to 83kg. Quite happy with my muscle development as I am definately looking bigger and lifting more. Easily bench press my body weight and squat about the same.
Unfortunately I have lost some tone due to the extra eating I have been doing. I tend to lost six pack definition easily unless I run a lot and if I run a lot I lose other muscle definition.
Still I think I might concentrate on the weights to stack on some more muscle. Still loving the gym. Keep going everyone

Just went on an easy five mile run - nothing special as it was down the countryside lanes in Woodbridge. The bloody wind got on my nerves as I ran back as it was in my face all the time; I even shouted "**** off wind!" at one point.
My left leg feels quite tight right now despite running at 8am this morning. While my legs are doing fine, my stomach is starting to lose the (tighten) muscles and is just 'flat' now, if you know what I mean.
Even worse, I'm off out to eat a Chinese this evening and will probably go and sit in the beer garden(s) afterwards and drink until my stomach drops over my waist line.
Oh well.

Could have been water retention - you take on a lot more when you're working out. Besides which although weight is an important issue you've said yourself you genuinely feel much better. That's very important.

When I was running this morning I was thinking "I can do this - and I can't wait to post about it"!
Very fast time, Rossco. When I'm doing it in the gym I tend to average around 2:20 for 500m, so if I went really at it I reckon I could get to 8:30 but it'd take some real training to get significantly better. It's a cracking time.
