Yes, give me a break, I know what I'm doing. I take 4 protein shakes a day and eat like a bear along with all my other supplements, I'm no novice.

112, you may just be shaking on the sets because its a new set that you haven't done before and your muscles aren't used to flexing that particular way. Once you nail the technique and manage to keep doing it properly you wont shake so much. Try putting the weight down a bit first though so you are nailing the technique and not shaking too much so it takes away from doing the set properly. Then you can eventually add more weight when the time is right.

Off to gym today to work my back shoulders and tri's.

Do you do heavy compound movements at all in your weight-training?

I wouldn't assume the guy is on 'roids just because he has achieved better results than you, he may be training more intelligently than you.

But only 4-5 weeks ago I seen him and he didnt have a clue what he was doing, trying to lift the full stack on some things when he could barely get one rep out of it and just not being able to do anything properly in general. And he still trains quite questionabley, a few other guys at the gym have mentioned it too, but not to worry, I dont care anymore.

Okee dokee, going back to my initial question, do you incorporate any compound exercises in to you weight-lifting regimen? i.e. exercises such as squats and deadlifts.

Looking at one of your previous posts it looks like you are using a body-part split routine.

Well I had a disastorous weekend. I managed a short run but otherwise just drank and ate, and drank and ate more.

Some people also put on bulk dead easily. I've got a couple of mates like that. They just touch weights and turn into the hulk.

After 4 years at uni I have added a bit to my weight, well I say a bit when I started Uni I was 12 stone im now 15.

The problem is I eat quite well so I know it?s not the food, I hardly ever drink I think it?s the lack of exercise that is doing this.

I have decided to buy some sort of keep fit equipment for my room but I don't have a lot of space. I was thinking an exercise bike, do you guys think it would help me to get fit and lose the bulk I have put on? Or would something else be a better option?

I have no clue about diet but this is what I normally eat/drink

No breakfast just not hungry at that time
About 12 PM I will have a lunch of some sort, usually something hot like a curry or fish and chips.
I tend not to snack during the afternoon if I do it will be a banana
About 6PM I will have something to eat usually a salmon steak with mash or chips.

Now here?s where it goes down hill

I will sit and watch the TV and most nights will have

                Organic yoghurt raspberry
                Banana + bread
                Chocolate bar or haribo
Toast and drink (usualy hot chocolate about 2AM) - I have tried to cut it out but it?s so hard.

I don't drink coffee tea or any soft drinks however do drink a LOT 20 bottles a week of lime water.

I am quite self cautious so will not exercise in public so would be grateful for some advice on the best way to lose weight and get fit at home.

I posted on another forum last year about this time the ygot me to cut out soft drinks which stopped me gaining anymore weight, now i just need to lose it.

I don't have a clue what to do to lose it or where to get advice from - hence the post.

I have been reading some of the earlier posts and i think i have a lack of motivation. None of my mates/family infact anybody i know goes to the gym or does any sport and i don't want to do it on my own as i know i will just give up.

                  There's your problem right there

Seriously though. Just get out there and exercise. There's no secret to it. I suggest running. I dropped from 16 to 12 stone by running.

Running, cycling or swimming. It's all good. And stop eating things like fish and chips, etc.
Eat a proper breakfast in the morning so you dont need to snack on silly things during the day, and if you do need a snack, take some fruit.

The reason your probably not hungry in the morning is because you eat so much late at night so cut that down and you'll be able to eat in the morning, thus you wont be hungry during the day and at night for other crap apart from your main meals.

                      Thats some good advice cheers.

However i tried the running thing last year about this time and i get so far then my back starts killing.

Do you have any reccomendations for some kind of home equipment?

Should i be looking at a bike, cross trainer, rowing machine?

at the moment i am looking to get healthy and up to a state where i can maybe go running. At the moment im not fit enough for that.

I don't always have fish and chips at lunchtime but it will be something of that sort, i find myself in the pub or at home and i can't be bothered to do anything complex so i just open a box.

I found the cross trainer was more "comfortable" before I got a little fitter. It kind of did what you're on about: got me moving enough to start running.

I like the look of that, i have been thinging about taking the plunge but i dont want to fork out on something to find i dont use it.

This has a motivational voice which i know will help me use it/keep going when i do use it.

I get this a lot also, its a combination of the way you run and your running shoes, but also (especially if you sit at a desk a lot like me) lack of exercise of your (probably lower) back. Ive tried to keep my back straight as I can when I run now, whilst so long as I exercise my back I dont get many problems now, when I stop it all starts up again.

I re(re-re)-joined my local gym today, whilst I skipped the induction I must admit theres a number of machines there that I am not sure how to use yet. I tend to do the same things which is fine for the most part, but I think I need to vary things a bit more this time round. With reference to the above, I really need to focus on my stomach and lower back, next time Im there Ill ask one of the fitness trainers the best machines to use.

You really are better off just joining a gym, nothing fancy just one of the cheap local ones as it'll spur you on more to go as you're paying for it and there's loads of people there to help you and give you a programme and tell you all the ins and outs of it.

It's the easiest way, and there's loads of people at every gym in the same boat as you so dont feel out of place about it or anything.
