    Well, today I've received a letter confirming that I've got a place in the London Marathon 2007 at the sixth year of trying

    Need to really get my arse into gear with training now...

      No letter but they cashed my cheque so I'm in too, plan to work my butt off, should be able to p!ss 3.15 but really struggle when getting to the last few miles and flag rapidly. Not next year though!

        I'm slowly getting back to training, despite my back still being pretty ****ed. Can't squat or deadlift, 60kg on either causes pains so they're out for the time. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to squatting next month, I was just starting to get in to them!

        Quite able to do pulldowns, but no rows. Seated shoulder press is OK, and benching is no problem - knocked out 3*100kg Friday, could have got 5 but on the 4th I arched just a little so thought it best the spotter take the weight.

        Today we're supposed to have a little 60kg benching contest at the gym, seeing who can do it the most. Friday evening a few hours after my chest workout I had a quick go and pumped out 25 without any real struggle, so hoping to hit 40 or so...

          I only got the letter because I'd got in through the 'five times rejected route'. the official packs will go out in December.

          I take it you didn't bequeath your entry fee, so congrats on getting in.

            No London for me, this time. I'll get in eventually. I'm running the Lochaber Marathon instead (as training for Ironman UK).

              Great session today on bi's and chest today with mate from the gym.

              Haven't been really giving it my all the last few weeks for some reason, just not been feeling it but after today and yesterday, I've got the bug again.

              Hopefully I can keep at it now and all these new games coming out wont hold me back!

                Joined a gym yesterday and I've got my induction on Thursday. After steadily losing 100 lbs over 18 months prior to my holiday in Australia I've not shed a single pound since September. I'm at 190lbs and 6'2" so hopefully this'll just step it up to the next level otherwise

                  Losing 100lbs is great! 190 sounds about right for your weight, put on a bit of muscle to help shift the rest of the lard

                    No-one has posted in a week or so, may as well jump in...

                    Was ill over the weekend, actually chucking up. That with my back problem has resulted in my weight plummeting to 91kg! Mainly muscle loss as well I'm afraid. Despite all that I managed a new PB today benching 110kg, was very comfortable as well. 115kg didn't go, but had no energy as I'm not eating atm. Certainly a target by Xmas though

                      I think it's just weight loss and less generally keeping fit, but I have lost an insane amount of weight lately. Last summer I was 17 stones but "wore it well" apparently. Over summer I've lost a hell of a lot, as of now I'm in the high 13 stone range (just below 14). I think that's about right for someone who's 6'4" but I still want to lose the extra.

                        I have been suffering at the gym as well. First it was flu, then it was Birthday and associated drinking binges and now it is mock exams.

                        Its not that I don't have the time but when I go am always tired. Had to drop my weights today as I couldn't manage it properly. I always thought it was better to get a good set than to struggle and weave around for a crap one.

                        Still I haven't lost any weight but its just all gone to flab on the belly
                        So next week or so I will be trying to get healthy again in the run up to the next binge. Christmas. Then New Year. In fact why do we even bother 8)

                          Yeah got to be in some kind of shape before Xmas, that's when the muscle tends to go south

                          Lyris your weight sounds fine for your height, but then it depends if you have a flabby guy or not. Don't get too skinny though!

                            Been ill the last 3-4 days and have hardly been out the house, just had no energy to move. But I'm feeling a bit better today, and I'm off to a gig tonight. And tomorrow I'll be hitting the weights again. Had a great few workouts last week too so cant wait to get back to it.
