Got a new acquisition today, after having to raise a PayPal dispute to kick the eBay seller's ass into gear.

It's an Olympus C5050Z - and I really need to stop buying cameras now.

I reckon it might have be stolen though. It didn't come in a box at all or any leads or software, and it had two memory cards in there with pics on, including a naked woman in a bath ( sorry, not hot so I didn't upload it ). Ah well, not a lot I can do and at least the camera works.

Picked up some new kit myself today - a Macbook Pro so I can use Aperture and Photoshop on the move (and laid on my back in bed ). Had a PowerBook G4 previously but it just couldn't cope with the raw files produced by the D80, just too big. I'd tried Lightroom but it was too slow for that too - like watching paint dry.

Anyway its a nice bit of kit.

The third one down shows good action.

What one do you like best, colour or BW?

          Which one goes, you decide!

Chose 'Street Furniture' for my photo project theme in the end. Got some last night.

Nice shots. particularly like the bin...where is that light coming from?

Has anyone seen this? Noiseless photos! (in some situations)

              Thanks, off camera flash.

                Sneaky! I like it.

                Nice pictures there.

As for the b&w colour one... I'm having trouble deciding. That's a particularly nice b&w conversion, but the colours are also very nice. I think it might be a better/more starkly impressive photo in b&w but I personally prefer it in colour. Is that legible?

DCharlie, those are pretty decent all things considered. The lighting etc came out pretty well. The action in the third one is quite good.

I'm also preferring the colour. Reall nice shot.

A new swanky UI has appeared on flickr for uploading photos. Its a big improvement

Just tried it - the upload bit just keeps hanging for me ( gets part way and stops). There also doesn't appear to be a way of adding a group of tags to all photos like there was with the old method. Fortunately the old one is still available too

Alastair - I prefer the colour one too.

Alastair, I prefer the colour one too.

And that bin photo is awesome! Looks like a Transformer - could maybe be called 'Refuse', so he'd probably be a decepticon

Thanks for the feedback people, I guess the colour one is the better one then, I can't bring myself to delete the BW version now though as I think it's one of the better conversions I've ever done.

I bought my flash wireless transmitter jobbie AGES ago with the intention of doing loads of shots like that bin one and never quite got round to it. I actually wanted to face the flash at camera from the corner of the bin furthest from the camera so that the light would have come out to the front as well as the left as it does in the shot above, however, large dense areas of metal shield the receiver so it wouldn't work, had to make do with it in that position. Maybe I just need new batteries for the kit though.

Somehow I'd missed your bin hot. Thats excellent

What kind of wireless kit do you have?

Thanks Ish, I'm really feeling photography again now I've got this project to get stuck into, how do I get an exhibition out of it?

It's the really cheap skanky set you buy on ebay for about 15 quid. As both my flashes are fully manual I don't need to be able to 'talk' to them, just trigger them. You have a fancy pants digital flash right? Therefore you need the Nikon equivalent of the flash wizard, they are not cheap.
