I'm no expert on what this kind of work usually gets charged out at and I can imagine that many people would do it fairly cheap.

That said, in all the time I was a freelancer (and since owning a company who uses freelancers a lot) I would never expect to pay less than £300 a day for someone skilled and in the media/creative industry, which is what you are doing.

Hope that helps, though i'm not sure it does!

Thanks all, the average I've been getting back from you guys and a few other places is way over what I was thinking so maybe I'll go in with a bit of a higher figure than I expected.

Gareth, without wanting to be too nosey, what does your company do? Like the model shots a lot, be brave and post an original for us to compare, go on!

Alastair, well I am just in the process of leaving my company! I co-own it with my business partner but after a fast changing 2007 I have decided to take a break. Selling up and off to see some of the world in '08 (oz, new zealand, japan, china).

Anyway, we basically design, run and facilitate corporate workshops. Generally themed around visual facilitation and learning. All very poncy sounding I know! Essentially we use artsists and designers to help with our graphic work including the bit of our job that I like the most...drawing live cartoons for rooms full of dozens of people! The cartoons and diagrams are a representation of the conversations that are taking place.

Clear as mud? Sorry, i'm a bit tipsy at the moment

Will post up some originals tomorrow when I have my external harddrive handy.

Really nice shot, great colours and light. Would also like to have seen a lower angle version, with the dark thin line of the walls horizontal. May have looked less dynamic though.

Thank's it's down at the old tyne tunnel just outside of newcastle, you should see the escalator so long and steep and all the steps are wooden the other photos im only half way up the escalator and that is half way through the tunnel there is a twin tunnel right next door and cyclists only are allowed to use it,

                      First of 3 posts

Unusual assignment today. Take pictures of football match, then (attempt to) play in the second half. Safe to say my photography was better on the day.

So footie pictures. Keep Right On website vs Blues old boys (and some others).

First pic taken by Gradius as I was on the pitch.

Our Keeper (wearing the blues kit) and Legend Martin O'Conner who had dived!

                      O'Conner celebration

                      Ian Clarkson and our Ian

                      Keith Bertchin rounding the keeper

Keith Bertchin with a unusual pose

David Busst who most people would last seen with a right angled shin bone. Still runs with a limp. Good to see him playing though.

Yes, we were playing in rugby shirts. Our kit is white with blue arms. We was hoping the blues would turn up with the black kit. They didn't!

Lok, that's funny, scary looking dog, animals eyes always do that, my cats ones sometimes go a horrible opaque like they are blind or something. Could you edit your post with the 3 shots side by side up there please so they're below each other, it's totally cocked up this page!!

GT - good series, especially like the first two actually.

This is pretty much a test shot for an idea I had the other week. Will try to retake with a better background (we have a wall that is a nice deep red but that requires moving furniture), something in the foreground (table? I don't have a card table unfortunately) and also tweak the lighting a little as I'm not too happy with the shadow in this one. Lighting is one 500w halogen work lamp and off camera flash. The flash seems to have overpowered the lamp though so I need to work on positioning and strength.

Taken with the timer rather than someone else pressing buttons, took me ages to work out when to throw the cards!

On a side note, I seem to be completely unable to post a picture that includes all of my face, what would a psychiatrist say!?!

Alastair, i'm not sure what a shrink would say but I kind of like what you have done with the photo. Would like to see a closer crop though.

Also, not sure if it would have, but did my answer to your question on the last page make sense?
