Cheers Dan - I was playing with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle on some of these - first time I've used one, and it's definitely a lens that takes getting used to - especially at the 10mm end

Like the portraits above - especially the 'jazz' guy.

As always, good stuff from everyone in here

That first one looks like it could've been taken at some kind of Dark Knight tribute evening or something. All 3 of those are nice though Dan, 'tis nice being able to get really good portraits of your mates

Well, he was the barman at a gig I went to last night. The main band which was who I was there to see and photograph were f*cking awesome - pics to follow! I wanna tell you what they look like but don't want to spoil the surprise

And thanks, I'm glad you liked the portrait, I was very pleased with how it came out and so were my mates as they said I made them look good!

Been camping down the Gower for few days which presented some nice photo opportunities. I took over 200 photos these are from the first few I took though.

An old hippy cowboy had some owls on a cart down Southend Highstreet, I almost missed this little baby one hidding behind a charity box. I had him half into my camera case before the dood caught me and made me give him back

I took these whilst out and about the other day - there were lots more but unfortunately due to my complete incompetence at photography most of them were totally unusable.

I did manage to salvage some though - Black and White masks a multitude of sins

                  And now some colour:

We get some pretty cool sunsets in this neck of the woods

Those obviously aren't taken on the same day but the colours haven't been touched up in any way. Nothing like sitting out back with a cold glass of wine and watching the sunset

This was taken somewhere near Rhossili in the Gower. We went on quite a walk from the campsite and found it. It was breathtaking.

Edit: And this is Sammie the Squirrel who comes to my garden everyday.

                        Love those sunsets Spatial

                        Nice owl Spags

Herbaliser, nice shots mate but they could benefit from an increase in contrast - give it a try

                        --------------------------------------------------------

I had the pleasure of taking the photos of a band called Zipperface last week and I must say I'm pretty pleased with how they came out. Here's a few of them:

Incidentally, someone on flickr commented on that last photo above and said that they liked it but said "mic is a bit in the way for me". To which I replied: "Seriously?! He is singing!!". Some people eh I can understand about mics and mic stands getting in the way and spoiling pictures, but only really if they are not being used. If the singer is singing into them then surely it is a valid part of the photo, otherwise it's just a guy in clown suit with a megaphone and no context

The rest can be seen here

Like the second and the last a lot Dan. The second to last one is cool too. They look like a seriously strange band though.

Phil Collins is mixing with some strange people these days...

                            Great stuff!

Thanks guys, if you wanted to hear what they sound like, go here - They sound a bit like Mike Patton's band Mr Bungle. Their 4 track EP is on itunes and is well worth a listen.

Yes Al, they are a bit odd, what gave it away?

[EDIT] Oh, and people seem to be liking this shot, so I thought I'd share it with you guys too:

funkydan - I think thats some of your best work. Great subject and shot really well. Nice one.

Just got in after the WOMAD festival where, despite being bloody ill (off to see the doc in a minute) I managed to rattle off 1800 shots. Processing will commence forthwith! Hopefully got a decent shot or two.
