Thanks Tommy - here's another! Where do you live to have such awesome wildlife?

Wow! I like that one even better with the colours Ish

I'm at my g/f house in Barbados atm. It's alive with wildlife, her house is all open plan with no doors or windows because of the heat and an indoor garden which is really cool so you're completely exposed to the elements and the nature around.

It's awesome, if you like the outdoors that is. Last night I saw the biggest moth i've ever seen in my life, i got a shot of it but it's not worthy of posting so i'll try and get another tonight. It's literally as big as my outstretched hand!

TommyG, can you stay out there forever? Amazing pics, love the snail and the toad.

My girlfriend came back from the shops with a Circular Polariser filter from Jessops for me, anybody use one of these? Says on the back that it will increase colour saturation which I'm looking forward to trying out when it stops raining, but also says 'rotate filter to change effect' - seems a bit random - any hints?

Not yet, but when mine arrives later in the week from Amazon, hopefully I will

In the mean time, take a look here - might help..

A polarising filter will cut out glare and reflections along one axis.

If you are taking a photo of a lake and you don't want to the reflections on the water you can rotate the filter to 180 degrees and they will vanish.

Because it will cut out reflections of non metallic surfaces you can use it to remove the light reflecting off and object so you can see the underlying colours better.

Polarisers cut out reflected light and can increase saturation as a result. Easiest way to see the effect is to point your camera at a lake or river and rotate the filter.

I have one pretty much permanently attached to my zoom.

Edit: EvilBoris beat me to it!

I might end up living here one day spag

You and your macro lense would love it here Ish. We went to some gardens today and made the macro work overtime. Also saw the biggest black bee in teh world! lolz

Oh and I also used my polariser as there was a pond with some koi in and the polariser removed all the reflections so you could see the fish easily, a very handy lens to have

Thanks Al, it was really good fun but as you say, very hard work too. The worst bit I think was when I was on the wrong side of the stage to get into the pit for the Boosh and had to fight through the crowd to the otherside, camera etc in hand. And then the pit was rammed! But it was all great experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. Unfortunately wifey sprained her ankle on Friday night and we had to leave at around midday on Sunday as she wasn't able to put weight on it really. But it was an awesome time - any questions about it all, please ask

                              Great stuff funkydan!

Questions eh. I'll go with a couple:

What kit did you take in the end? Which did you use most? How did you find yourself shooting (in terms of camera configuration)?

And who was your favourite band?

                                Great shots Dan, really great
