A few pages back I mentioned that the company who organised my holiday wanted to use my pictures and travelog. Went up today:

By the way - who do you guys use for prints? I've been using Loxley Colour for the last few months (and got a big batch of 12x8 prints done from my holiday) and the quality of the prints has been absolutely superb (far far better than PhotoBox for example).
They have an irritating Java based order system but its worth persevering with (once you figure out how to use it its actually fairly efficient) as the prints are so damn good.
Thought I'd just give them some pimpage.

I've been looking at Loxley Colour after their great writeup in one of the Photography mags (can't remember which), but they seem expensive and as you say their ordering system isn't the best. I'm not too worried about the costs if I know the results are great but I'm not convinced they will be (and that's nothing against Loxley, I'm not sure if the shots I want done up big will work so well). I'm after some fairly large canvas prints, but too worried to order!
Just had a 10 minute play with the new Canon G10 at lunch time. What a camera. Does make me wonder whey we bother with DSLRs though as it can do 90% of what a DSLR can.
The size - it's too big to carry about everywhere.
The noise - at low light it really struggles, anything above ISO 400 is pretty much wasted
I see in the specs the G10 is lighter, but the weight never really bothered me with the nine, just how bulky it is. Looks like it has a wider lens too.
And can I just say - awesome pics in this thread lately, I feel ashamed not to be shooting at the moment. My whole life has been consumed by work for practically the whole year, and for what? Bleh, maybe soon I'll be out and about again

About Loxley - best thing I can say about them is that they're consistent which makes it easy to judge how something will look in print. I'd suggest trying a couple of largish straight up prints (just a few pound a pop) and see what you think before moving onto the canvas. I've not used Loxley for canvases (though I think I'll be using them for my next one) but I have found that printing on canvas tends to come out darker than on paper.
Ordering a gallery print next week - I'll let you know how that turns out.
And yeah - get posting Pete! Didn't you actually start this thread? Therefore you have a duty
