Hit, Miss, Maybe strikes again! http://www.flickr.com/photos/peterjohns/201930292/

I tend to edit all my shots too - usually crops and minor adjustments, though occasionaly go the full hog with HDR and the like.

Long time no post so here we go - from a recent trip to Santorini which is truly stunning (if a little cliche!)

Bangaio, Santorini looks a beautiful place - i understand it can be a bit more expensive compared to other greek islands.

Pete, i'd take no notice of the majority of Flickr viewers myself.

So why doesn't the poster be constructive in his critique.

I've joined Flickr this evening and added myself to that group. Will be interesting to see the results. http://www.flickr.com/photos/scphoto/

Aye it could be but isn't that bad at all (Santorini) and it's a photographers paradise it really is. I stayed in Perissa with my girlfriend which is on the sout east coast and was brilliant if a little too full of English people but the beaches were really quiet, the tavernas along the beach were really good value around ?30 for 3 courses and a litre of wine and it was very chilled out and really traditional. The vullages pearched on the edge of the caldera are more expensive but car hire is plentiful and cheap and the buses are dirt cheap so getting around is dead easy so on balance probably not as expensive as people think and if you want a ?250 a night boutique hotel with an infinity pool there are plenty of those too!

The second one isn't working for some reason (uploading it again?). I looked through them - some of um are incredible. You've turned into a macro monster!

Shame about the flash, couldn't think of any other way to get it lit properly though. Guess I could have difused it...darn, only just thought of that

And a couple more from today

This thread has inspired me and I'm looking at getting the Canon EOS 350d. Anybody know where the best place to get one might be? Anybody used these guys?

Ideally I'm looking for something with a replacement for the kit lense (I've been looking at the 17-85mm IS USM).

I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not to replace the kit lense straight off or whether I should just take plenty of time getting used to the camera first?

Just seems it might be an easier way to save cash from the start on a decent general walkabout lense when I'll probably end up changing the kit lense at some point.

Any thoughts and opinions will be appreciated
