    Hola, NTSC-uk.

Here's my stuff. Many posted on another forum, so I don't want to bore the visitors of both with individual postings:

Explore this photo album by Gray on Flickr!

For some reason, this is my most popular picture on Flickr. And it doesn't even have "babe" or "nude" in the tags:

BCE Place, by Calatrava, in Toronto. It wasn't until the year after taking this picture that I saw George A. Romero's Land of the Dead, and was rather surprised to see much of it set in this building.

(It's a building, in case you think you're going to see wazzers.)

I love them Shapey, you've managed to capture great detail in things so otherwise simple. So how long have you been shooting for? You seem to get everything right in each shot, very confident photography.

I've just signed myself up to Digital Photography school, so looking forward to that. I hope that helps me

I've been trying to get out shooting again, but I've been pwnd hard by work in the past week and am stuck on a never ending cycle of work\sleep\work\sleep. Bleh.

The Snow Caddy pic is easily the best of the ones you've uploaded, I can see why it won a prize. The BCE Place I like too, a shot that was probably quite tricky to get the right exposure on.

          Thanks lads.

Been taking pictures for about two and a half years, Pete. There's so much for the n00b to learn! I've only very recently switched from hand-holders like Shutter Priority and Aperture Priority to full manual.

BCE Place was tough to get right, Marty. Odd lighting in there. Striking the balance where the interior wasn't dungeon dark but the sunlit white ceiling arches weren't blooming was the trick. God bless the digital camera; I could lengthen the exposure, take a shot then zoom in on the stored picture to check for clipping in the brightest areas.

Snow Caddy was one of those gifts. I had just gotten a reasonable camera. Not much more you can ask for when wandering around the place as a total photo n00b than a fire truck-red Fifties Cadillac peeking out from a perfect blanket of new snow.

Why isn't every day like that?

re-bump this thread as i have a question... i've an canon 300v SLR and a relatively cheap digi at 2 megapixels, possibly contemplating a digital slr (another canon) but just wondering about geting photos 'blown up'. what's the largest print you can make of a well taken slr photo and still have it look pin sharp??

i'm perfectly happy with the slr and if i can get some fairly big (a3) prints and have them look good then i'll not bother with digital outside of my cheap one for sticking piccies up on the internet.

I think A3 is the max, though it depends on how sharp the image is. From what i read a few years ago 35mm film is about 14 million pixels in digital terms. Though this depends on the grain of the film, lens quality, subject brightness and probably a few more things i've forgotton.

thankyoo very much, i shall now enquire as to how much it'll sting to get such prints done!

You can blow up a well taken SLR photo considerably bigger than A3.
This is the only point where megapixels really make a big difference.

This 20D review talks a bit about it: http://www.dansdata.com/20d_res.htm

Haven't posted in this thread before but thought I would contribute my digital pics whilst I have them here.

Now, since im living in Sweden at the moment, I didn't bring my film SLR (why, is beyond me) so I've only got my less-decent digital. But I would appreciate your thoughts on my latest efforts if you would...

ps: 14mp for 35mm? Well, a top flight b&w print is no problem to enlarge, cibachrome done well, easy go as big as you like. 4mp no no no! However, a dslr can easily match any 35mm film these days. POst processing and good printing and A3+ is no problem. A full frame dslr and you are into medium format film territory now! 14mp is far way and above 35mm film. This is Eos 1dsmk2 or nikon d2x leauge. Don't even begin to think about how good medium format digital is getting!

Just thought I'd resurrect this thread to post this picture of a girl playing a guitar thing which I took last week in Suzhou, China. Downsized from the original 7MP for the sake of convenience. It's not the greatest shot anyone will ever take, but I liked it

I'm quite interested in Holga camera's as I've heard good things about them and would like to get one. I was told you could get great dreamy effects.
Can anyone recommend anything and steer me in the right direction?
                                Cheers.
