I like those shots Al, nice and crisp. And I like the B+W con as well - looks fine on my monitor

How did you start taking this kids photos? Did you just start snapping away or did you chat to him first? I only ask because there's a small skate park in the little town I live in and I've often thought of going up there to try to get some shots but wasn't sure how to broach the subject - I suppose the skaters would like it I guess, especially if you take cool shots of them!

As I was walking down there there were two kids also heading that way so I asked them if they knew the crowd that go down there, as I had the camera out and I guess looked like more than a fun snapper they were all questions and were happy to point me in the direction of who they considered the best skater there when we got there. They said to him I was asking about taking some pics and Oli came over. We just had a chat and I said he could do whatever he wanted but also said the sort of thing I was after. He said doing face on shots on the first ramp was a bit dangerous for him so we changed it about a bit and hit other ramps. I was lucky he was really helpful and willing as it would have been hard work had he just been skating and not helping me out with advice and requests.
Of course I am sending him the shots when I've edited them all, fair is fair after all.
Be careful of coming across as a dirty old man though, always worries me a bit and I had no idea the kid I was shooting was 12! Keep it pro and never ask for their number/email unless they are happy to give it. I gave Oli a card and said he could email me, if he was willing to give me his email then I would get in touch with him to save him the bother. He was happy to give me his name as he wanted the fame!!

If you can afford it buy one, he deserves the sales Thought you'd like to see this too. I bet you spend AGES looking through that. Some of the work's amazing. Loving the fighter pilot helmet he sprayed up recently too.

I'm a sucker for a strong character! Hope this isn't the start of some horribly expensive habit...

Thanks Tommy. It's Milly my parents Westie. She's a beautiful dog and ridiculously friendly and playful. My parents think I'm visiting them - Milly and I know better!

Couple more from me and I think more to follow. Had a pleasantly busy day

                        TommyG,

Nice photos of skeletons but if you play with the contrast/shadows etc, a bit they will really pop out of the screen. Excellent work from everyone on this thread as usual.

                          Thanks Richard.John!

I think I might just do that

                          EDIT:

Wow, they look so much better than the originals. Photoshop is still quite daunting for me so i'm just using a simple program that came with the camera, which simply alters brightness contrast and saturation.

                          Thanks again RJ
