Awesome stuff Haha, Garf and Skinny!

      Straight off camera:

edit - one more! Slight crop and slight change of tint (weird colour cast by using multiple ND filters):

Awesome photos there both Haha and Pete.

Really loving your Paris photos HaHa, was there a few weeks ago and took my camera but didn't take proper photographs, just treated it like a point and shoot really. Did you take your tripod with you? I didn't bother which basically meant any decent shots at nighttime was out the window. Such a shame as it's a beautiful city at night as your photos show and I would have loved to have got some proper shots.

Thaanks I bought a cheap tripod before going but ended up only using it a couple of times, I tended to improvise with walls and stuff instead as it was too cumbersome everytime I had to set it up. I found it more essential to carry my tiny shutter remote than a tripod actually.

Looking for a well rounded, sensible opinion!

My wife wants a small compact to take out for mixed piccies of the nipper etc, maybe some gigs (low light).

We have a small HD camcorder and a Canon 400D with a couple of lenses.

I am aware we won't get anything in a compact to compare but still looking for decent little camera!

My thoughts so far are Canon 100is or Panny TZ7 although I think the panny is a bit big for her.

Help with any opinions please before I order a 100is and then regret not buying ?????

                  Cheers.

Some nice stuff above guys, particularly from Haha and Pete.

In that price range I'm sure that'll be relatively good. I hear very good things about the Fuji 200EXR which is a little pricier, but has a slightly different type of sensor. It should be better in low light situations. Toddlers move fast, and gigs are dark, so that's an important point.

Some recent photos. All are better bigger, but I don't want to stuff up the webpage, so click through for largeness:

Westfield Derby's Security force wasn't impressed with me using their car park for photos. They said I needed a press pass, how ridiculous!

Well worth the effort though, that's a cracking shot.

If it was private property you really need permission to be there taking photos (unless you've got a good pair of running shoes on).

I have a friend who had something similar around here and they actually called the police on her. The cops were deadly serious about her being a terrorist threat and it was only because she could prove (by getting them to confirm there and then with the collage) that she was genuinely not a suicide bomber. They let her go with a talking too but it **** her right up.
