Amazing again mate, put my Paris photos to shame!

Haha, your Paris shots are incredible. Are you living there now?

Mag - thanks they are off camera though I am using ND filters. I'm borrowing the budget Q set by Cokin - they are pretty good so long as you don't stack them which creates weird colour effects. That's a great shot you have, if shooting RAW a good tip I've been given is "exposose to the right" - slightly overexpose and bring the contrast back post process. You get a better range of colours that way as digital has a better dynamic range at higher exposures.

        ... Something like that anyway!

Taka, thanks I'll check it out.

I think we can give you "most productive photo trip of the year" award this year!

Tried out my brothers 5dm2 today, first real go on a full frame...it really does make a difference! Pretty brutal on the focusing though, most of my shots are completely out even though I was quite careful and they looked ok on the screen. Only playing around in the garden though!

Also bought his sigma 10-20 which is quite fun to use. Seems to be almost impossible to use but look forward to trying it on a landscape shot sometime!

Typical scene in Fugen, Austria while on a Snowboarding holiday.

              .....

Different theme each year for fancy dress for the Thursday, leading up to apres ski beers followed by night skiing.

Some excellent work in here recently guys -

Pete - I've always been happy with the Crumpler bag I have - it's a shoulder bag, which is quite easy to get into, and is very well padded. I can get my D40 plus 3 lenses in it (that is a tight fit though). I also have a Tamrac Adventure backpack, where the camera stuff goes in the bottom section, and there is a (smallish) top section for a waterproof, phone, drink etc, which is good for longer days out.

One thing I would say about Crumpler bags is that they seem quite ambitious with what they say you'll fit in the bag, whereas it might be tricky in real life, so I'd always go for the larger sizes (they do different sizes for each bag, if that makes sense ?) I'm sitting here with a fuzzy head due to a cold, so hope I've written that right...

Been busy with a photo a day challenge I have been doing, which I have found quite tricky if I am honest, and I've not always been happy with the stuff I've taken each day - that said, I am quite pleased with this one from yesterday:

Cool shot, very nicely composed. I like how us photographers are always on the forum nice and early!

I was looking at crumpler stuff over the weekend, does seem to be what I'm after.Thanks.

Just wanted to throw an endorsement in there for Crumpler - I've had a Daily Medium for a couple of years now, and it's been fantastic. From the looks of that link, I think they've been replaced by the New Dehli series. The extra space in the flap and in the front is greatly appreciated, and allows me to stuff loads of random bits and bobs in there. I would probably go for a bigger one now, though, as I'm starting to run out of space when I take more than a few lenses and a flash.

Fwiw, the canonical photo bag is the Domke F2. It's not cheap, but it will probably last forever.

I managed to get out locally yesterday with the camera and took a few shots:

This church shot is my fave of the batch

I really like the last shot but haven't been able to fix the bleached aspect in the top right, there's just too much glare from the sun. Do you think a crop, a third of the way down, just above the trees, would look ok?
