Went out tonight. Left my macro lens at home. Christ that hurt. It worked though as it made me really work with the lens I took (55-200mm Nikon VR AFS blah blah).
Still processing but I really like this one. It was a bit of quick thinking - I was playing around with the relected light and saw the jogger coming and had a brainwave. Its best viewed large or full screen if you can.
I like this one too:

Nice shots there, Ish. I bet the VR came in handy considering the light levels.
"Spatial's Nightmare". You can add me as well, Marty. Also, regarding the flickr group, it's just an idea, but maybe you could post an announcement in the Japan Trip thread or general gaming forum as this is a games site so some may want to post pics of Tokyo or any game related stuff. For example, I know that DCharlie has hundreds of game pics on his flickr page. This thread probably doesn't get the recognition it deserves as we know that it's the friendliest place to be, but most will never even take a look, so will not know about the group.Last edited by Richard.John; 23-05-2007, 03:15.

Has the world come to an end; Ish is not taking macro photos?
Your Treedom photo is absolutely superb by the way, it really grabbed my attention.
I went to Holbrook last night and this big 'effing cloud was blocking the sun all evening so the photos are quite rubbish, except for a few photos that shows several boats and the (distance) fields before the sun started to hide behind the cloud for good.
I love taking photos before sunset but last night was a disappointment.

Had the day spare today and thought I'd go check out a bridge I'd spotted before when riding past. As the day was so nice I fancied the 25 mile ride on nice country A roads so I strapped the tripod to the pillion seat and off I went.
Took my time setting up and this is the first shot out of the camera, really pleased with it. Only took 3 shots in total of this bridge as I knew I'd nailed itUsed the PL filter to blue the sky and also the graduated grey ND to help stop the sky going over.
First time since buying the L that the kit lens has been back on the camera by the way.
Next to that bridge is the modern road version. This is the underside from when I was sitting in the shade cooling down.
Back to the L for that one!

One of these days I'm gonna get me a camera and one of those white lenses & macro and take wonderful shots like the rest of you. For now I'll just use my phone.

Anyway, I put up some new photos from my evening out on Tuesday (at last) and they were all very nice but because the sun was behind this great big cloud all evening, there isn't much content as I'd usually like.
I quite like this one myself:
I'm loving Alastair's bridge photo; it is excellent.
