Some of you have been listening to Street Life too much!

Marty, that three coach?s photo is brilliant; near perfect alignment, great shadow positions and a simple but effective colour scheme. I certainly like those sorts of photographs that shows colour contrast.

Alastair, you are right about the photo needing to be seen large - click on the photo everybody - and the results are great. How did you stitch the two photos together? I can't even see a 'line' where one photo starts for the end to continue. Lovely (big, bold) colours too.

My Suffolk Show photos came out quite nice but most of them are portraits:

I went to the coast yesterday, and it was my first chance to use my Uncle's Digital SLR i inherited
Here's a few pics i took, it was absolutely the first ever time i've used the camera (or ever really used a camera at all tbh, aside from a few family/holiday snaps here or there) so go easy on me. I have no real idea what i'm doing, bought a magazine with some beginner's tips but have yet to read it to be honest. Sorry for the black and white-ness, i guess i've always generally preferred the look of B & W although i know it can be a little pretentious when over used
Any thoughts/tips appreciated regarding the pics above

What brand of camera is it?

          It's an Olympus E-500. I think it's a few years old

Nothing wrong with the camera or the pics, well, the 2nd lacks contrast, but the composition is interesting, perhaps that would work better in colour. I might have cropped the partial rods on the left out of the third pic.

I think you have a good eye for a photo as the compositions are good, so keep snapping away.

Will do, thanks Have made the changes to the pics you suggested (just working out how to use the basic functions of Photoshop too ) and they do look better, especially the kid's windmill one.
Spagoli - really like the Ladybird pic

Cool - make sure to drop by flickr and add yourself to the NTSC-uk group

Photos the members of NTSC-UK have taken.

Cheers - seems that I'm having the usual flickr effect - apparently the colours aren't bold enough. I mean, seriously?

Flickr can be like that. One of my favourites about an image of my was 'The picture is unique, but i don't care for black and white' (or something close to that).

Ignore them, I like it, so do you so bolx to em!

Anyway, nice pics on the last few pages.

Thanks ET, just used PS's photmerge or whatever it's called, was the first time I tried it and it worked brilliantly!

Loving that pic by the way.

Good start Mutants, certainly much better than my first efforts were!

Spag, the first foxgloves shot is lovely.

Aye it can, and of course I do. But 5/10? ...

You can post the most hideous of flower or cat shots and people will be queing up to wipe your arse.

Aye, I tend not to post too much in groups anymore.
