    Was too bright to go any shallower, they were taken at 3.5 at 1/2000+, down a stop on the aperture was overexposing for the look I was going for. Shame really as I agree that it would look better a bit shallower.

        Is 1/2000 the fastest shutter speed on your camera? Time to upgrade

        That's one of the things I like most about my new camera, going from 1/2000 to 1/8000 is brilliant.

                That's a great photo. Commented on it at flickr but wanted to do the same here.

                As for upgrades...I had thought of a Nikon D200 but will be holding out for a D300 later in the year now.

                      Good choice! After much deliberation I got a D40 a couple of months ago and have been nothing but impressed with it Nikon were pretty speedy with the cashback too.
