I've been taking pics but I just haven't had any time to process them. I must have hundreds to go through from October and late September.
I still pop in to peek at pics most days. There've been some mediocre efforts and some amazing ones. You know who you are

Anyway, keep it up! Photography thread nevar die ftw!

Thanks. I don't know why exactly but I have processed lots of shots like that recently...probably to mask the crappiness of the actual photos!

It's been a quite week for me photography wise.

Nice little bug that's been in my viewfinder.

I like your first one Johnboy. The other ones seem too crowded. One thing that you should bear in mind when composing shots is that it's generally nice to have a subject. Now, that can be quite a broad concept. In portraits, etc it's very obvious, but I often find that it helps in still life and landscapes too. In the second one, for instance, if you'd got a bit closer to the red tree (Don't be afraid to run around! It's more fun than zooming) and made that the focus of the picture then it probably would've been a lot more interesting.

You'll pick up these sort of things the more pics you take and the more photos you look at. Do some heavy trawls through Flickr and try to consider exactly how each picture was composed and why that gives it a particular effect.

The first one's really nice, with the silhouettes coming out beautifully against the sky. Very nice indeed!

Also, the colour in all of them is really nice. Is that a particularly beautiful forest, and is it on full auto?

Gareth, I'm particularly fond of how you've been processing your images recently. Care to share any tips or anything?

              Those slogans are histerical!

What can be done about the bug?

The focus screen was easy to remove, so the bug has now left the camera!

Its not a big forest but it is a lovely place. It was on full auto.still reading up on shutter speed, aperture and exposure so i can get onto the manual settings and experiment more.

Funnily enough i did take some more pics of the red and orange leaf trees. The fact that there are 2 orange and 1 red leafed tree in among all the greenery has always made it a favourite place.

Tell me about it, we are the only district council in the county not to have gone single, which leaves us in a bad position too! Makes me worried for the job in the long time (I work there) to be honest.

Anyway...Photography! I've been quiet on this thread for a long time but in no way have abandoned my camera! I've taken 1200 shots in the last two weeks (and got paid for doing so ).
Unfortunately they are wedding shots so not really suitable for a thread like this, I may upload a couple of non-personal shots as not to potentially offend any of the people involved...

My 24-105 f4 and 580exII flash turned up today - result! First L series lens, absolute beauty. Perfect for weddings though in my brief test I've notice the AF is a little slow in low light.

You could put a black rectangle across the eyes, just like those reader wives pictures my brother told me about when I was younger

I really like the first one Al, nice use of the light - I love shadows and the light reflecting in the puddles etc. The second is good too, but something doesn't sit right with me - I think it's the way your subject is standing.....he seems.....contorted, or as if he has been glued to the ground (he wasn't, was he?! )!

Nah, he's supposed to be a zombie/monster though! EDIT - In the first shot you can just make out the horns and teeth. The shoot was a B-Movie shoot.

                                Thanks for the feedback.
