I went on another Flickr meet last night (have hangover now ) and a guy there had a Leica M8, so so nice. I can see why you like it Gareth, what a serious piece of kit. Loved how solid it was and how they've taken every effort to make it like a film camera even though it's digital. The guy was considering a 35mm f1 lens, ?4,500, OMG!!

Also, flickr have just launched stats, see the attachment. It's under the you dropdown then Stats. Enjoy.

Ooh, stats - fantastico! Now I can see when I am at my worst

That's quite cool Al, although I have to wait (until tomorrow apparently!) to get my stats

Nah, just took a couple of mins to do mine earlier! Just refresh or something.

There's loads of detail such as hits per bit in graph form and also where they have come from, like links from here of people viewing your stream.

Smart - when I first clicked on it, it said processing stats, check back tomorrow. It was ready a few mins later - what a kidder.

Doesn't look like I've been getting many views this week, but then I've not been uploading much recently, just this one for the Amateur Photographer comp on "Breaking the rules".

Also, v3 of the uploader for Windows and Mac has been released:
The safest and most inclusive global community of photography enthusiasts. The best place for inspiration, connection, and sharing!

Finally we can re-order shots before uploading them

All this geekiness comes from sitting in the pub with Lomokev last night, that man lives and breathes flickr. He was late to the pub cos he was at home printing all his stats out!

I don't really do that much street photography, but I had my work's do in Birmingham yesterday, and saw a couple of scenes

I really liked the way there was a lone car in the right lane whist the left was chock block full.

yep, still loving my m8! The f1 is a 50mm, a leica noctilux. I'm on the search for a second hand one at the moment!

I like the second for exactly the same reason. The first has the classic signs of being saved from under-exposure (b&w, noise), but it remains a good shot. Really liking the second though, great urban shot.

Like the second one too. Nice half and half shot.

This is probably as Christmasy as I'm going to get!

No fancy photo shop work there, just a lens trick. Anyone ever done the same, can be good fun. See attachments for normal bokeh and altered bokeh (hate that word!).

Nice effect Alastair(don't know how its done!)

                            Anyway greeting for the season.

Went to a Mummers play this evening. The original Father Christmas was there.

Marty I like the brum shots. That underground bit (which used to be a car like the one opposite) i've always fancied having a shot at. I like both shots

Celebrating my first ever house plant (has my life really come to this?).

Hmm...looked much better on my PC

Love the idea Pete. Just a bit dark... have you tried a longer exposure and perhaps an ever so slightly wider aperture? (though you might need more exposure if you widen the aperture a little).
