It's a decent abstract Pete, I like it.

Amateur Photographer have announced their themes for next year's monthly forum competitions, and this year they have prizes. Not that I really want additional competition, but why not have a go yourself?

To all forum users We’re very sorry to have to inform you that we are no longer able to continue running the AP forums. AP has launched a new and improved website that offers a better layout, and enhanced functionality. However, the technology behind the platform we are using is, unfortunately, incompatible with the forum. […]

Wouldn't normally put wedding shots online, but I figured this would be ok since it doesn't show any faces.

The only reason I put it up is because a flickr group demanded it Did anyone join the Pick Your Poison group I sent invites out for? It's really friendly and addictive. Best group on flickr I've used.

Don't think the temperature got above zero all day in brum.

BBC micro? I've got a BBC Master in the loft which i've never got round to looking at (plus a cumana double disk drive and Microvitec monitor).

Yup its from a BBC Master. You wanna dig that bad boy out GT. Whack in Elite or Exile and you'll be kept busy all day

BBC Masters rocked - especially if you had sidewise RAM

My new toy after a trip to Jessops ...

I thought about the D300 @ £1079 in Jessops, then I nearly went for a D200 as they're now going at £749, but in the end I plumped for the D80 and I'm already liking the extras features and useful gridlines in the view finder, and now I can have the macro lens on the D50 all the time \o/

Nice one - its a good camera Marty. I moved from a D50 to one about 6 months ago and have found it to be great.

                    Took this on Christmas Eve:

                    And this:

Been playing about this evening with back lighting behind white paper - I don't think the results I got were particularly good, but it's an interesting filter effect, so I might give it another go.

Yes I did - and I just started posting in it. You're right that it takes a bit of reading to get how the group works, but it seems like an interesting group. Congrats on getting "Featured Photographer" Pete

I've processed a few more of my D80 shots from Christmas, mostly just portrait stuff. I'm pleased with the level of detail the D80 is giving me.

Detail looks good. I like the backlit paper idea. Might have to store that in the memory banks and use it in the future.

Anyway. been a little quiet on the photo front for a while. But here's one i took of a mates band.

Used my 15mm Fisheye 1/200 f/2.8 iso3200 (explains the grain)

I've not been on here for a couple of weeks really, some nice shots as always guys, nice new toy Marty, what's the camera cout up to now? 50 yet?

I've taken a few shots over the holidays so I'll post a selection here.

A shot from our garden, it was about 1 degree but it looks like a nice summers day!

Went to a National Trust event where they light the trees and gardens. It was pretty damn foggy though.

And also a different NT place where they kindly put out some food for the birds which then come right up within 6 foot allowing full frame at 200mm!

Awesome as always Mr L - did you get my Flickr invite? Marty is already kicking arse, you going to let him get away with it?

Oh, and the cake wasn't a lie at this wedding:
