Certainly inspiring, but there can't be many other people like that in skateboarding. At least not openly anyway. Despite the ethos of supposedly accepting people from all kinds of backgrounds, skateboarding's always been a bit homophobic.

Really? And how did you work that assumption out then? Is it the same assumpton that ppl have about us skateboarders all being drug filled gangsters?

By skating for over 20 years mainly. I'm not saying every skater's homophobic, far from it, but how many openly gay pros (or ams for that matter) are there? That's not exclusive to skateboarding, granted, and I can't think of many male-dominated sports where there are many 'openly' gay people.

As for the drug-filled gangster thing, I've never come across that. Different vibes in different scenes I suppose.
