This is the thing, and one of the fallacies people think about vaccines, especially due to Covid. Vaccines don't stop you getting infected. They mitigate, reduce, and contain (on the most part) the symptoms you will experience and likelihood in passing the disease onto other people. All this "I've been Covid vaccinated and still get ill" bollocks is people not understanding how vaccines are supposed to function, especially given the short time span for the initial Covid vaccines to come out. Those ones especially were never going to be 99.9% like others that have been refined over the last 40-50 years.
So yes, things like polio, measles, mumps and the so forth are all still out there, you just haven't heard much about them in the last 20-30 years because almost every child was getting vaccinated. Sadly, not right now.
