Been walking round with a painful right foot for a while now. Got fed up with it so went to the doctors, who sent me for an xray. Turns out I'd been walking around for 3 weeks or so on a fractured metatarsal of the third toe on the right foot! No wonder it bloody hurt.

Current annoyances:
1. left index finger very stiff and painful when flexed - think this might have been from a hyper extension at training in Japan - months ago..
2. Going arse over tit whilst sledging yesterday. About an hour later realised that my right index finger was stiffening up and was painful at the knuckle joint.
3. Finally woke up this morning with a super sore throat, chest feels like a a fat bint is sat on it and I'm coughing up all kids of gunk.
It's certainly Christmas!
oh. And playing Borderlands for 3 hours at a time is not exactly helping the finger situation.

I sprained my abs once. Or strained. But I'm pretty sure he said sprained. I thought it was a hernia. Never been quite sure what a hernia is but that's what I thought it was.

I've damaged my lower back muscles following a car crash earlier in the month (of December), thankfully I followed the advise here I followed the injury claim path so I'm now getting physio. Seems the muscles around the damage area have gone rock hard as a way of protecting the damaged area, which is making the whole thing worse. Physio seems to be helping already though, got a private doctors appointment early in Feb to assess the long-term effects which I'm strangely looking forward too. When I saw the local NHS GP he was pretty useless so a private back specialist should be good.
I also scored quite highly on that depression test which has scared me slightly. I'd say that my health before 2010 was good, never needed to go to the doctors. Last year though I was practically in every few months with various infections and generally feeling rubbish. May be related to depression, not sure.
Also had a horrible cold for the past two weeks, which I thought I had got shot of a few days ago but now it has come back even worse. I feel hungover having only had one drink. Rubbish!
I've gone from coughing up bright green sticky stuff to dark green sticky stuff - is this better or worse?
Don't particularly want to go back to the doctors again!

I know someone who didn't claim and still suffers with problems with their back and neck. You really don't want to be in that position.

If your Doctor is any good it might be an opportunity to have a chat with him about the way you're feeling in general. It doesn't have to be a full on outpouring of stuff, but you can approach it by saying that you're concerned about having picked up so much stuff in the last year and not feeling right. At the very least see what he says - he'll probably run some blood tests at the very least to make sure it's nothing being missed.
I find the quacks are generally pretty good these days - they have to be. If you get one you feel is being dismissive then do what I did last year - go back and see another one a day or so after. The first guy I had was as much use as a hammer made of jelly. The second guy was much more switched on and a great help.

I have broken my ankle, (clean break at the femur just above where it joins the foot) and also got a hairline fracture of the metatarsal. Did it December 23rd.
I managed to slip on recently refrozen meltwater (must have been about 1-2mm thick and invisible). Having a great Christmas/New Year... but at least I haven't needed a op (which seems common with ankles).
Hey-ho. Happy New Year. Commiserations for all you with serious or virulent illnesses, mental and physical. Peace.
