    Last night I had me:

Batemans Dark Lord - 5% - a real earthy number - quite tasty but gave me quite violent wind almost instantly .

Also the much fabled Wychwood Circlemaster. What a bottle of beer. Delicious - a proper tasty thirst quencher.

      SEE???
Those who doubt the circlemaster shall be punished in foul ways....

Never doubt the word of the Prinny.

Dark Lord = Parp Lord. I bet you were gutted when meaty quacks appeared to liven up your night.

I only had a couple of pints of Tetleys tonight. Seared the palette ready for the Final Hurrah of the Keswick Collection tomorrow night. Down to the last three

A Big Ber-yarp welcome to Connavar! There are certain rules you must follow in this thread:

      * Discuss real ales.
      * Discuss their after effects.
      * Rate some beers. Together we'll all glare in envy at your local doozies.
      * Just talk beers really.

Enville ... hmm, I seem to remember a bottle with a bee on the front?

Come on then ET what's on tonight's blow out menu?
Or will you drink what you find?

            Comment

No wuss drinks! You've got to jump straight into the hardcore boys for maximum effect after that absence.

I'm treating myself to a lunchtime beer (London Pride) and some barbecued spicy sausages. Yum yum.

This of course means that by about 9.00 I'll be plastered. Happy days.

I'm going to some do tonight where the only beer on offer will be some crappy watered down Boddingtons or something so I've indulged in some afternoon cheekies.

Cairngorm's Sheepshaggers Gold - 4.5%. OK - bit of a taste of raisins and vanilla.

This set me up perfectly for Marstons Firestoker - 5.0%. As prinny will tell you this is a king of beers, so when the wife returned from Durham with 4 of the beggars I was a touch pleased. As expected it did not disappoint. If you're lucky prinny I may even save you one!

Edited to say: 2 and bit hours ET!!

YOU bloody well better had, boy! Haven't had a BramStoker/VomChoker for months...

                    Oof mega Night:

Loddon Beer from Tesco's - ABV can't remember, quite nice really. A good session starter - 8/10.

Highgate Old Ember - A 6%+ thrasher also from Tesco, a stout that will kick your ass into next week. A tad too strong for the second beer, but tasty goodness nevertheless. 8 1/2 out of 10.

Broughton Border Gold, 6.0% - mega drinkable, dangerously so. A whipper in wusses' clothing. 8/10 i think, maybe 8 1/2.

St Peter's Ruby Red Ale - 4.3% I think, a tough old boy, 8/10 if memory serves me right. Much tougher to drink than Broughton, despite the lower ABV. Nice medicine bottle!

W.P.A. - Wentworth Pale ale, about 4% - lovely beer, the perfect latter-point of the session. 8 1/2 out of 10.

                    Ruddles Rhubarb.
                    As Tony Frostie would say...
                    GGGGRRRREEEEEAAAATTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the Loddon Beer tonight too. Not bad. I only give it a 7/10 though

Also on my list for the evening:

                      Bombadier Satanic Mills 8/10
                      Burton Bridge Porter 9/10
                      Marstons Single Malt 8/10
                      London Pride 8/10
(cough) Frome Valley Dry Cider 7/10
Ruddles Rhubarb 8/10 (this one is really growing on me)

That Old Ember you had prinny is one of my fave beers that Tesco sell. Its nice and strong with a good taste. Yum.

So ET - did you celebrate in style last night?

I chuckled at some of your responses; calm down fellas!

Anyway, I had a rather nice night indeed.

                          All pints, of course:

                          Adnams Regatta
                          Aspall's Cider
                          Fuller's London Pride
                          Hambleton Stud
                          Holdens Golden Special
                          Milestone Crusader
                          Timothy Taylor's Landlord
                          Woodforde's Wherry

As well as a half pint of a 'home made' brew, which to be quite honest tasted rather vile despite exclaiming that it was perfect to the two blokes who handed it over to me.

I woke up this morning with a rather mild headache so I got away with it this time. However, I did walk back home to finish off with a pint of Guinness and - get ready for it - a Watermelon Barcardi Breezer.

                          I failed you all.

You're forgiven the Bacardi for the rest of the evenings stupendous effort

Just had a nice London Price myself. Well. 3 London Prides to be more precise.

A lovely ale indeed but for me Woodforde's Wherry is a nicer (and arguably easier) drink than Fuller's London Pride but we all have our own tastes; no rights or wrongs.

Are there any Cider fans on here? I have to say after drinking a fair amount lately Aspall's Cider is just lovely, so lovely.

I am also quite fond of
Gaymer's Olde English cider too but for some odd reason, I can't drink one after another as it is quite a weak cider in comparison to the rather expensive but ever so sweet Aspall's.

Your in good company - Woodforde's Wherry is my favourite session beer. Funny thing about beer festivals though - no matter which day I turn up the wherry always sells out ten minutes before I get to the bar. Its my curse.

Cough. I drink cider too. Cough. I know I know I'm just a raging alcoholic. Actually I shouldn't joke - I am drinking far too much at the moment. Oh well!

I like Frome Valley Dry, Theakston's Cox and yeah Aspalls is good too.

I also get this "rough" from my parents local farm. £3.50 for enough to knock you out. Lovely.
