A TOAST

.. to toast!

Comment

About a month ago I told my son if he made class captain I'd buy him a Nintendo.

He's only gone and done it ><

Thing is - I never specified WHICH Nintendo and neither did he - I have a good as new barely ever used metallic blue GBA SP at home with a carry case and he asked about Yoshi's Island which I also have for it.

But I think he'd really want a DS though even he mentioned last night I'd need "loads of money" to afford that !!

I also have a modded Jap Gamecube that has been superseded by the Wii.

I think handheld would go down better with his mother - New DS (he ain't getting mine) or the good as new GBA ?

He's only 5+1/2 and I reckon a GBA is a good enough start - at home just now he only has one of them megadrive plug&play jobbies with Sonic 2 & a few other ****ty MD titles on it - This way he could play in his room or with headphones meaning he doesn't require the TV.

Fair ? At 5+1/2 I like to think a GBA SP would have blown me socks off but they seem too accustomed to the latest tech these days ><

Tell you what is nice - big chunky slices of doorstop fresh bread, and then toast it on an actual fire. You dont even need anything on it then really - but for a real treat you can't beat a drizzle of olive oil and a bit of fresh parmesan. If you are having a barbecue and in charge of the grill, you can get yo' toast on and hand it out to your guests in this fashion whilst cooking the other stuff. Top tip there from the old Seany.

At 5 our lad was blown away when I gave him an N64 and a DC, so I think a spanking new SP would do just nicely, he will love it!!!

I've just renewed my passport. You know you don't think you've changed much since the photo you had when you were 16?
You have, believe me.

I need a drink.

No offence to our friends in Scotland ...

The Scotsman and the Dentist

A Scotsman phones a dentist to enquire about the cost for a tooth extraction.

"£85 for an extraction, sir" the dentist replied.

"£85!!! Huv ye no'got anythin' cheaper?"

"That's the normal charge," said the dentist .

"Whit aboot if ye didnae use any anesthetic?"

"That's unusual, sir, but I could do it and knock £15 off.

"Whit aboot if ye used one of your dentist trainees and still without an anesthetic?"

"I can't guarantee their professionalism and it'll be painful. But the price could drop to £40".

"How aboot if ye make it a trainin' session, ave yer student do the extraction with the other students watchin' and learnin'?"

It'll be good for the students", mulled the dentist. "I'll charge you £5. But it's going to be very traumatic."

"Och, now yer talkin' laddie! It's a deal," said the Scotsman. "Can ye confirm an appointment for the wife next Tuesday then?"

I would post a picture, but unfortunately for youse guys it's on it's way to Liverpool to be processed. I might post it when it comes back. On my new one I'm obviously tear inducingly handsome, however the one from my student days looks a little, feminine if you will.
For instance on my way to Tunisia last year, I handed my Passport to a lovely lady at Manchester airport. She took a quick glance, as you do, then proceeded to ask me why she was looking a girls passport.

So, all you student and emo types. You know you think you look cool with girly hair and make-up on?
You won't think so when you're paying to have your drivers license and passport changed in a few years.

Stop laughing at the back.

i've been reading far too much of the somethingawful.com forums where certain swears are replaced with other words.

so i read that as "Man im ****ing toast today."

speaking of toast though, i've just polished off 2 rounds and a spare muffin. mmm

I've just been in the pub for a few hours and i'm very bitter about the fact that i smell and feel like i've smoked twenty regal king size. It shouldn't be so ****ing unhealthy to have a few games of pool. Thank **** for the ban- about ****ing time.

You'll have Gillian McKeith knocking on your door if you don't stop this addiction, seriously though, that is one hell of alot of carbs to consume in one day.
