I am genuinely appalled.

Ah news sites dressing press releases as news.

This is no different from the 'Shocking' updates they do to the monopoly boards on an annual basis (complete with media furore) where they release a version with different property names. They release this new edition then a month later go back to releasing the classic version.

It's just another kids/family version of it where you can get bonus cards that allow proper nouns. Allowing proper nouns in regular Scrabble is stupid as there are millions of possible words and they're incredibly hard to verify.

We played Scrabble as kids, a big family thing at the weekend. To keep it even we allowed some of the officially exempt words. It's not real biggie as the original rules are in the box too.

Massive rage as tonight I tried a new AMF bowling alley, which was completely empty on a Friday night. The lanes hadn't been oiled in a week, when my gf can bowl every shattered house ball with a hook, you know there's some wrong. After being on 23 by frame 6 I called over the technician, who admitted the lanes hadn't been oiled because of the technicians bad back. Once I called for the manager and ask for a refund on the remaining games, she refused and said it was my play style, and the lanes are and had been oiled daily. There's no head-office number on the site too. £25 down.

Just why the engineers behind laser discs made them as big as vinyl records? Found what I thought a perfect present for my dad, bought it and now that I notice it's a laser disc. I know it's my fault, but really, I wasn't even considering the format while browsing through large discs...I'll need to buy him a laser disc reader now.
