I don't know about you, but historically, 100&#37; of the time I've pressed a soap pump, I've then gone on to wash my hands with anti-bacterial hand wash immediately afterwards.

As for that soap pump, that's hilarious, and I agree 100&#37;. I'd understand laser soaps in public toilets, if only because they're fun, but at home? This place has got the wrong end of the stick. Let's start with actually getting people to wash their hands first. Wait, maybe that's the point of it? Makes washing hands FUN!

If you've a toilet in your bathroom, it almost certainly does. Aerosolised toilet water can travel up to 20ft.

There's a lot of text and it's quite small and I haven't done any further checking (read: Googling), but the end says:

"To limit the scope of the aerosol effect, the simplest method is to close the lid on the toilet every time before flushing...and always, always keep it[your toothbrush] in the medicine cabinet or some other enclosed place after use"

My toothbrush does indeed sit in the medicine cabinet. It also has a little plastic head cover thing which isn't because of paranoia, it's because it's handy for travelling and I decided to just keep it on. Just to prove I can live dangerously, my other toothbrush doesn't have a cover.

I'm less careful at home because we're all Muslims here and therefore will burn in Hell for a while if we're not adequately careful about hygiene, but outside I'll either turn the commonsense-ometer up a few notches or give up and wonder what's the point when I go loo at work and find piss on the seat, for example.
