    You sure you aren't just suffering this lack of gaming interest on a short term basis?
    I think a lot of us go through it at some point and then come back to gaming later on. I have seen people sell a lot of their gear in one of these moments only to regret it and buy the stuff back for more moneys :S

    Modern gaming has gone a bit stale for me so I have been hitting the back catalogues for the older consoles. May not be HD gaming but there is still plenty out there that I missed.

      I know what you mean about people who get cold feet for a while and come back, but nope, this is the REAL DEAL.

      I'm not stopping gaming completely, because I think I'll always be playing games of some sort in some capacity, but it's taking a back seat. At the rate I'm going, I won't buy into the next gen(although the Wii U looks nice). I just wanna play piano, now. Music is my extra-curricular activity.

        I totally understand where you are coming from, playing the piano would be much more rewarding than gaming in all respects. Like I say, I'm finding current gaming all a bit stale and samey but I still buy into it and kind of wish I didn't sometimes...maybe I should learn to play the guitar I got years ago? lol.
        Btw if I may ask, how old are you? I find a lot of people phase out of gaming around the age of 18/19 when they go to Uni or get a job or family etc.

          28. It's not really current gaming that I have an issue with. I love stuff like CoD and Halo, I've just managed to convince myself that if I never buy a game again I won't miss anything. Honestly, money's a big factor at this point in time(seriously considering giving up my I.T. job and becoming an English teacher so need to put some aside) but it's not so much the lack of it, more like my coming to the conclusion that spending that money on other things will bring me more happiness*.

          The promise of that Team Ico PS3 game lured me a bit, as have LA Noire and Ni no Kuni(notice they're all on PS3? ), and I've found myself frequenting Kotaku a LOT recently(barely ever visited the site before now) but I find that if I just keep away, it's really easy to not get hung up over what I won't get to play.

          I'm not taking any kind of moral high ground with this(I'm not saying gaming suxxors or anything), it's just happened this way. My dad still plays games - he's pretty hardcorps about it - and I always just assumed I would, too. Recently I came home from work to hear him playing the original Command & Conquer on his laptop.

          * I know, I know. Money can't buy happiness!

            Well I commend your decision and hope it all goes well lol. There isn't a whole lot on the gaming horizon anyway so you won't be missing a whole lot (I can only think of a few "must haves" between now and Xmas for myself) and like you say there are always the older consoles if you need to game.
            You are only a year older than me so I understand your position about wanting to move on a little and becoming a teacher should definitely keep your mind occupied
            Just think of the money you will save!

                    Just walked into the office and one of the old guys was playing Zero 7's 'Give it Away'. I said "Zero 7!" and he said "No, 08!". I initially thought he was not only hip but also quite witty, but then I realised he was on the phone being held in a queue and had speakerphone on and that was the on hold music. So I asked, "What's 08?", and he replied "0800, the phone number for EDF. Not 07".

                      I love Zero 7, so I would have shouted it out to him too.

                        Found 4 old broken Playstation controllers, now have 2 fully working ones. 3 Xbox 360 component cables, 1 360 RGB cable, 1 Wii component cabel, 1 Wii Composite cable, 2 Xbox controllers working, 2 car stereos, 2 car stereo speaker covers, no speakers, old mobile phone, webcam, ethernet cable, speaker wire, Zell Dincht plastic figure, Final Fantasy VIII set and more!

                        Chucked a lot away and made loads of space.
