Today must be one of the busiest days in recent forum traffic.

    Can you confirm this Charles?

Instantly. The more laughs the better. There is no such thing as time.

Wear a funky hat so you get on the telly. Something like this:

Lol, if I were actually going then I so would. In fact, if I place a bet and it wins I'm buying one of those hats!

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

I can make a dog drink though. Stick it in a liquidiser

                that's a rather mean joke!!

My 5 horses didn't win me anything annoyingly, although one I had down to win came 3rd. Irritating as it was first right near the end and another was first for a fair bit too. Oh well, only a tenner down which was made back at the car boot this morning anyway from junk!

Meh and bed for me for a few hours, hopefully not to be awoken by the sound of another car crash outside my building (like yesterday...)

                    I'm watching this at work:

and it's making me want to start taking piano lessons.

I decided two years ago to start learning(from scratch using GarageBand, at the tender age of 27) and I've been winging it since. I can play five Einaudi pieces so far(the first took about 18 months because I was learning to actually play at the same time, the next took about 3 months, then each one took less and less time) and I'm torn between carrying on the way I am(playing pieces I already know inside out and using the recordings as a gauge for how well I'm doing) or getting a teacher involved. So far I've been playing for friends and uploading stuff to FB. Of course, friends will often just be polite but a few have put the recordings on their iPods which I'm taking as a good sign even if I'm never truly happy with my playing.

It's just a hobby but I keep reaching these brick walls now and I'm cacking my pants imagining the teacher going "No no no, you're doing it all wrongu" and having to relearn things again. A few months in I watched a YT video of the piece I was learning and saw the guy doing his hands a different way to how I was doing it(basically I was doing it wrong). I tried it and it worked but it mucked my playing up and I got frustrated and stopped playing for a few weeks. I'm worried there'll be plenty more repeats of that and I know, I know, no pain no gain. I daresay piano's keeping me sane and without it I'd sink into a pretty dark place and, on the one hand, I do it for relaxation but, on the other hand, I'm sure I'll get more and more frustrated as I try learning more difficult things and just end up getting stuck, which would be the complete opposite effect.

                    GAH!

Just sliced a flap of skin off my thumb
Pull it off or try and heal?

                      Edit: It's OK. I found a plaster

I'm near there, about to go Tesco for some bagels. Maybe he just needs a bagel like I do? Salmon and cream cheese should sort this mess right out.

cba. I don't see the point in approaching the cordon and being asked to turn back

Plus, it's more fun looking at this!
