As in a Tesco store. It's like how you'd say "I'm going to Bill's". Technically that is grammatically correct I believe.
    But no-one says "I'm going to Game's" or "I'm going to gamestation's"

    Asda's? nope
    Lidl's? sometimes. mostly lidl
    spar's? never

      no-one I know says Asdas or Co-ops!
      Yet everyone says 'Sports'.

It's Americanization, it's everywhere, and it stinks.

I hate it how people state things yet their tone implies it as a question, with the raising of pitch towards the end of a sentence. **** off, that really ****ing winds me up that. It makes people sound like some bitch from Friends or some other American TV ****e. **** off.

I find it really patronising, and no matter who you are or how long I've known you you get ****ing told straight when in my company.

I'm not saying it's how it should be said, I'm just trying to point out that according to the law of grammar "Tesco's" is technically correct as you can't physically go to Tesco you go to their store.

You're right. However I wasn't pissing on your chips, I'm on your side here.

I know I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't some goon who went around saying stuff like Ikea's, Burger King's or McDonalds'...

Actually, that's Antipodean posterior rising intonation syndrome, it's something that Aussies and Kiwis do, and yes it's fricking annoying as Stephen Fry said, "because it makes an idiot of the listener". What's more annoying is that if you go to Australia for any length of time, it's hard not to pick it up!

Just exchanged contracts on a new house that is a lot more rural then where we are now. Amongst all the upside to country life I've just found a downside, the phone exchange is BT only so my broadband choices are seriously limited It's not even in a cable area

Where are you moving to Alastair, some place in Suffolk?

I only said that since the county has just recently won seven out of the ten best rural places to settle down in the UK; it's just a guess.

Staying much more local than that, although I would like to live in Suffolk. We going to a little village about 10 miles from Brighton, just north of the South Downs.

Well, despite your potential broadband woes, I hope everything will go well for you mate. I used to live in Capel St Mary (in Suffolk) for a few years and it was absolute bliss.

As sad as it is I've finally reached the first page of the feedback forum (when viewed by number of replies) and I've actually have been checking for a few months for this day to happen.

And **** in 'ell. Just had an email from asda saying they have just shipped my copy of The Club... forgot and bought one on here earlier today. Muppet.
