Why does the kitchen mixer I want cost ?400 in England yet $250 in the U.S?

^ because our voltage is higher(240v) so it can mix more quickly than the slower US version(110v). It's our payback for all those years of 50Hz gaming

In other news, my mate just posted this on FB and I had to share:

To truly know the character of a man, look into the character of his friends

Also, the UK plug has three prongs instead of two, you can't expect that for FREE

Well, for imported US products that third pin is often plastic due to the lack of a ground line, and is heavily subsidised by the government in order to keep UK/US relations sweet. It was introduced back when Blair and Bush were prayer buddies.

Just got a delivery from CityLink. The driver hands over the box and I notice it's actually for number two, we're number five.

He realises he's picked up the wrong parcel, asks me to hold on a sec while he delivers to number two, then he'll be back with my parcel.

He comes back two minutes later, hands over a box, and... it's another parcel for number two!

He comes back for a third time, and it's third time lucky, I finally get my delivery I felt sorry for the poor sod, he seemed a tad embarrassed!

I do fear for anyone on his schedule today that doesn't check the box properly before signing for it though.

The second comment (and one further down by the same poster) made me laugh, quite an intelligient seeming post written like a complete cretin.

My grandmother passed away the other day. I don't share personal stuff anywhere online really, but I just feel so guilty that in the last few years I didn't call her as much as I could have. She raised her sister's kids after her sister passed away a long time ago, and then her brother's too. She did more than I could ever accomplish when I look beyond financial matters or whatever. The sad thing is nobody in my family realises exactly how much she did.

Sad to hear that dude I'm sure she knows that you cared about her.
My Grandads birthday is today so I'm popping round to see the grandparents later. I try to make a bit more effort these days as I'm not sure my Grandma will be around much longer (she has curvature of the spine which is slow and painful).

Thanks, it's just I'm realising I have my priorities seriously messed up and we can die any time. Or those around us.

Thanks man, so many people passing away lately that I know of, my friend's mum included. I guess we don't think about it because it reminds us of our own mortality.

Sorry to hear that. I totally know that feeling though. Things look very different sometimes after death, when it's too late to do anything about it (like call someone more often). I lost my dad a couple of weeks ago and have that. Hadn't seen him in years and meant to, and would have had I had more time I guess. What is unresolved stays unresolved forever, totally sucks ass. So I totally get what you're saying about priorities.

Thanks, and I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I agree completely with what you posted.
