        Opt Out

Tried to purchase a serial number for a piece of shareware, paid by Paypal, and the jobsworths won't process my transaction because I chose not to furnish them with my full address and phone number.

So that they can email the serial number to me.

When I got to the till, she slowly put my items through, I was glaring at her as if to say "HURRY THE HELL UP" but I said nothing, until she asked me if I had a reward card to which I replied "No, I dont but in the time you took, I could've ran home and got it" she then started off on a "how dare you talk to me like that?" rant (obviously never heard of the customer is always right) and I just turned round and replied "look, you're as slow as hell on the till, you've obviously got the same problem in the mind, it's time to give up on life already, I'd call the manager but an idiot like you obviously wouldnt understand anything that they were saying, infact.. do you even understand me now? hmm... probably not, bye!" and I walked off, as I was walking away the guy behind me who'd been stuck in the same queue for the past 30mins then said "do you always talk to your customers like that? I want to see the manager!" and I just laughed.
          I feel your pain, mate.

There's a shop round here called QD (it's one of those cheap stores which are usually handy for certain things) and EVERY checkout server is like the woman you describe above. The shop has up to about 10 tills and even when all of them are full (which is rare, even on a Saturday), the queues tend to back up right into the store because the servers are so slow.

I'm convinced it's a job requirement and that more efficient servers are observed and then sacked for being too fast. It's the only way to reasonably explain it. What's more, they buzz for the manager every other item and once the manager arrives (by S-L-O-W-L-Y shuffling over to the till), they stand around discussing the price of the item in question for what seems like an eon.

Shopping there is like returning to earth after traveling space; centuries have passed and everyone you knew is now long dead. Frustrating indeed.

Some of you guys must have no patience I'm imagining you just running around all hyped up on red bull and sugar beating pensioners to death because you got stuck behind one in a shop

Surprised no-one is moaning about petrol prices, sure before the Governmnet added their extra couple of pence in tax last October, that Unleaded was under/about 95p a litre. This morning I saw 106.9 for Unleaded and 110.9 for Diesel - in Romford, hardly a remote Island or the centre of London.

              /rant over.

www.petrolprices.com is worth checking before splashing the cash on the black stuff.

I saw 109.9 for regular unleaded yesterday in Hertfordshire, couldn't believe it!

It doesn't seem to be worth moaning about it as nothing ever changes. Sucks to be me though as we're planning a 2000 mile trip starting next week and the petrol will cost me a fortune

They're adding more tax on it soon too

Job interview at 2pm, part of which I have to give a 10 minute presentation on what I feel the role entails.

                    Absolutely ****ting bricks right now...

Does anyone here know if there is a steep shipping cost when ordering stuff from Amazon.com?

Seen a few stuff that is not avalable on Amazon.co.uk site.

Depends what you're ordering. I've ordered plenty of books from the US and even with postage it works out cheaper than getting them from the UK. If you put stuff in your basket and go to checkout you'll be able to see the shipping cost without placing the order.

Shipping isn't too bad, depending what yr getting obviously. You'll get screwed on import charges though, at least I did.

Ordered Planet Earth on blu-ray and ended up paying another 15 - 20quid when it got delivered. Annoying to say the least...

Thanks Paulo G, will give it a try, and the stuff id be buying you cant get here so i guess the price is the cheapest regardless lol.

Len is that import tax calculated by the cost of the thing you are ordering or the weight of it? Or is it a standard £15 charge?

I was thinking of ordering a shed load of clothes in exces of a few hundred pounds
