Marvel vs Capcom 2 is out now. But it looks pretty icky on the iPad, virtual controls on a game like this are really tricky and I noticed a lack of responsiveness. Part of me thinks it's cool that they released this but it's not really suited to iOS - maybe looks better on the smaller iPhone screen but that's not the most important issue.

Just tried Marvel vs Capcom 2 on my iPhone 4S, it's a step too far I'm afraid... Looks really nice but it's so S-L-O-M-O and obviously the controls were never gonna work!!
I also just got Don Bluth's Banjo The Woodpile Cat Adventure Game - It's from the same geeza who did Dragon's Lair and Space Ace but it plays like the QTE scenes from Shenmue.

Not sure if you guys are aware but two the CAVE shooters are now available in 'HD'...
DoDonPachi Resurrection HD
ESPGALUDA II HD (numerous HD versions of this, yes it's blady confusing but the ?9.99 one is basically full version with both modes!)
Only tried DoDonPachi Resurrection HD myself on my iPhone 4S - It certainly does look nicer but whether it's '?9.99' nicer is another thing...

Cannon cat was the game of the week on the app store last week and its ace, it plays like the barrel bits on donkey kong country with a speed run scoreing mode attached to it and is very addictive.
The game really has to be played at speed to be enjoyed you have to be accurate too as if you miss the fish pickups you won't score well. Presentation is good and it all seems very polished, little things like the fast restarts if you mess up all help the game flow in a trials hd kind of way, and best of all it's free at the moment.

Bar Oasis 1.5 is out and it's free. If you never played Bar Oasis, this would be a good taster of the game, although this takes place between the first game and the upcoming sequel. In the game (both original and this) you work in a bar and serve drinks. In terms of the gameplay, it's mixing drinks, pouring ingredients, stirring etc. Pretty simple but fun nonetheless.
But the real draw of the game isn't the mixing drinks, it's the story and characters. As you work there, you follow a story with the bar's boss and friends and it builds with relationships. It's very adult in that it really is just about their relationships and they feel quite real as characters. In fact, I was pretty amazed by how much the original drew me in with its story. Really good stuff.
So this 1.5 is a free smaller filler story between 1 and 2 and is well worth a go.

I linked this in the art thread but in case there are Sword & Sworcery fans who wouldn't check that thread. This weekend they have been doing an AV jam - music, remixes and images contributed by all sorts, all in the key of Sworcery (as they're putting it). There will be more uploaded throughout today, which I think is the last day of this little Internet event. Some lovely work going up - http://sworcery.tumblr.com/
