Was anybody else worried that Mo Farah was going to roll onto Galen Rupp's phlegm?!

At the end of the Olympics, do the top three medal winning countries get a giant medal?

Caught the end quarter of the basketball where the Aussies annihilated us! Kept expecting the commentators to say "from downtown!" or "Boom-Shakalaka!" and the net to turn to ashes or the glass shatter. One guy did have bright yellow shoes though so clearly he was holding down "R" whilst moving.

You would have thought his silver winning mate might have told him to watch the flob!!

What a day that was...have been locked to the sofa all day watching everything except the football. The amount of medals we have grabbed is amazing! We are never going to compete with the USA or China so really we are top of the table

Anyone notice one of the 100m sprint guys had a sonic tattoo?

Epic couple of hours at the end there. BBC cocked up so immensely afterwards though. In between the elation of the trackside olympic coverage and the BBC news, they totally dampened the moment by showing adverts for new "grity" dramas (the accused and some other thing).

Then back to the news. "TeamGB won loads of stuff OMG!!!! Also on tonight's news, someone was arrested for murder and there is some war somewhere that no one cares about". WTFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!! This stuff happens EVERY DAY. The olympic stuff has never happened before and may never again. What the hell were they thinking. Wel..., I was thinking, at least they are going to show all the olympic stuff first, but nooooooo, half way through they said "and we'll come back to the rest of the day's sporting stuff after [all this depressing downer news]". Oh... and how incredibly boring and "city" was the suited guy they cut to in the stadium. What a tosser. He didn't even smile. I should have had his job.

I turned off and went to bed. Still can't sleep though. That 10k had me adrenaline surging with 5k to go. I was shaking by the end. What an amazing race. It was like watching British Touring Cars, with people jostling for position constantly and you were never sure what was about to happen. Ennis' 800m was great too. I can only imagine how awesome she felt as she streamed past them all down the home straight.

You'd think the one day in the whole 100 years where there is so much to celebrate (and may not happen for the next 100 years, they could have just devoted the entire news to the olympics. Seriously..... the first time we won the 10k EVER. Following on from Wiggin's Tour de France victory (another first ever), it a great day to be British.

Big fan of the Olympics and last night was immense, well done to team GB, Rutherfords's long jump almost slipped under the radar, incredible achievement.

Happy for Ennis after all the pressure she must have gone through but for me Mo was the big star, always liked the long distance races the best and for a small moment when doing my 5k Sunday run this morning I was Mo!

Another WR by Pendleton in 500m sprint.

Could be another massive day with the tennis, sailing, cycling and I believe we have a chance in gymnastics too. Bolt in 100m final tonight which should be special.

Gold for Murray, blew away Fed in straight sets. Hopefully he will now have the mental resilience to go and win a Grand Slam event in the future.

Not entirely unexpected, considering that Del Potro pushed Federer to the absolute physical limit in the semis (19-17 in the deciding set!). Hopefully the penny has finally dropped for Murray and he can take this attacking tennis into the upcoming US Open.

From twitter: Murray wins Gold medal in tennis but all runners probably more impressed with the fact he casually mentions he does 57s 400s in training

Yeah that was an amazing match and undoubtedly took its toll physically on Federer. US Open should be a cracker later on this month!

Delighted for Murray, and off to a flyer in the doubles. Laura is playing excellently too.

Pleased for Murray too, gotta say though I'm completely uninterested in most of the olympic sports... Bring on the Premier League!!

Funny you should say that, for me, the Olympics has cemented my dislike for football.

The difference in sportmanship is staggering.
