Totally agreed, the BBC coverage was brilliant. TV, Red button and online just couldn't be knocked at all. The fact you could watch anything you wanted whenever you wanted with decent commentators and the ability to rewind live online. Brilliant.

It really did bring new meaning to interactive TV for live events.

Sad to see the public back to their typical moaning ways. I guess it had built up for 2 weeks to the point of being unbearable.

The end ceremony was pretty knob, though I enjoyed gay George, Lennox, the Spice Girls & the Who.
Not just Grandstand, Sportsnight on Wednesday's was great, remember the amateur boxing really well.

Yes we need a separate discussion area for smaller sports.

The 24 hd channels was a very good idea so people could watch/record the events they wanted to see, thats of course if people had satellite tv or cable. i dont know what the coverage was like on digital terrestrial.

i wasn't one for the olympics but with those channels i had a look and saw some events, bmx and mountain biking as i thought they wouldn't get much coverage over athletics etc.

This is how politicians love you, sport and especiallythe olympics, hey people are getting murdered in syria, yes but jess eniss was won the 800m, the NHS and the economy are broke, yes but weve won another gold in rowing, then trying to say there's going to be a legacy, in most school's i know they hardly have a playing field, and who done that or let the school's or council's sell the land, yes the Tories. So this need to be highlighted, theres not enough investment in sport or our young people for a start. But hey lets kid ourselves on for 2 weeks the world is totally rosy.

I don't think that most sensible people do. But it's just nice to enjoy something for a fortnight.

The ****-stained grind soon thrusts its hairy arse into prominence again.

Yes hopefully now the government can see sport as a positive contribution to society.

Only if it wins votes. They sharp cut the funding for the schools sports partnership in my area, reducing the number of specialists, training and competitive events. Good old saggy lips Gove is more interested in sending out bound copies of Ye Olde English copies of The Bible to every school in the country.

So let me get this straight...because there is fighting the world over, people are getting murdered etc it gives television viewers the right to sit in their armchairs and whine the whole way through a closing ceremony?

And Jess Eniss won the heptathlon.

And yes I know eniss won the heptathlon, but guess what one of the events in it is?

And yes they can moan if they like, I'm sure it's called democracy.

                          It's a Democracy!
That's like pulling the opinion card on the forum!

I know I'm a bit of a moaner most of the time, but I really enjoyed the Olympics coverage. I just didnt get time to watch everything that I wanted. All seemed to have gone well for the event too.

BUT (he he), I wouldnt have enjoyed it any less if it had been held in another country, because I still believe it was a total waste of money which should have been spent on more important things. Judging by the local in London it seems as tho economy will not get a boost from it all as Londoners have complained that their taking were actually down due to the Olympics.

ALSO (he he hehe!) 2 other gripes -

Usain Bolt = arrogant tw4t. I've never liked cocky f*ckers in sport. Naseem Hamed, Eubank, Ali. All I'll say is that he'll eat his words soon.

The french = whiney babies. Team GB didnt cheat. They just trained harder. Sour (wine) grapes methinks.

Speaking of French Sportsmanship, who else saw this gem?

Didn't really like the closing ceremony overall(Pet Shop boys twice? Ok, so once it was actually them on those chariot things(with the riders in their admittedly groovy orange Pyramid Head hats) but we already heard WEG during the opening). Fat Boy Slim songs were cool but it looked like he was just pretending. If he was, at least they made sure there were some wires coming out of the decks.

Mr. Blue Sky was nice, too, and Annie Lennox was lovely. Eric Idle getting battered with powder paints was a highlight(he was brill). Delboy and Rodney as Batman and Robin was a bit random but nice to see.

Still, I downloaded the opening before and have it saved on my PC to watch whenever(and I bought the album the day after), as few shows will top that I think. One of my flatmates missed that so planning to see it again some time this week.

I quite liked Rio's little demo. Looking forward to what they do.

Also I was really hoping Boris would drop the flag.
