The fact that my dad will drive miles to save 1p on a litre of petrol irks me.

When I'm on my own, I park as far away from the supermarket as possible so that people don't park next to me and dent my car. The extra walk won't hurt you either.
To me, it's not a necessity, it's a luxury so that parents don't have to walk as far. When I was looking up info about this spaces when this came up before I saw rant threads on parenting forums complaining about people with disabled stickers using parent and child spaces when the disabled spaces are full up and people talking about how they'll "have words" with them and stuff like that. I find that kind of thing sickening.

It sounds as if you think there's no benefit to mum's parking closer, in which case you need to have a look a bit closer. Have you tried carrying one of those baby carriers around (with a baby in)? It's meant to come straight out of the car and into a buggy, but at the supermarket, you put it on to a trolley. Might be alright for me to carry it all the way down the carpark, but for most mums, it's heavy.
If you've got kids that can jump in and out of the car on their own and use them, then that's wrong though.Last edited by charlesr; 22-10-2009, 13:55.

Something else that irks me is that news media now thinks we need to be told everything at least twice. for example. The guys in the studio tell you, then they cut to someone else "on the scene" (or perhaps miles away across the border because they aren't allowed in the country) who tells you the same thing. And then they cut to an expert who..... tells you the same thing. They could fit 3X as much news in surely?

what dose irk me is how people get really worked up about things that are close to home but couldent give two hoots about stuff that isnt.
I call it the selfish crusade, yeah ultimately some good may come out of it, but you know deep down that if it wasn't affecting the person in question you wouldn't see them for dust.
it's like when celebrities all of a sudden start to champion a disease just becasue they have it. where were you last year when you were all fit and healthy, snorting coke off a young lady perhaps?Last edited by Lebowski; 22-10-2009, 15:15.

Oh Kylie you are so brave!
Sod off! What about the thousands of women with far less money that go through the same problems with no fuss whatsoever. It annoys the hell out of me.

This reaaaaaally annoys me. She actually said in an interview that "when I was feeling really down my boyfriend (the one who could afford to take a break from work) would take me out around Paris on his scooter." This is not representative at all of the living hell that most sufferers have to go through.
