It went really well actually, I went down there not knowing what to expect from them, explained to the girl the problem and decided to be straight up about the fact it's worked fine the past 2 days, she was great about it and said she'll take my word for it and swapped it there and then, loosely quoted she said she'd give me a new one, I don't know if it's brand new or a refurb but honestly nobody could tell the difference, even had the original screen protectors on. I'm due an upgrade next month and am going to sell either this or whatever I upgrade to so to have a handset less than a month old is a good thing should I decide on letting this one go. Overall very happy with the customer service, i wasn't there 5 minutes even, one thing I did notice, there must've been about 30 staff working when I turned up, incredible given the size of the store.

PLUS, that idiot on the Xbox Live 'Dubai' report in that silly cap, f*cking hate stupid-looking 'trendy' hats that truly look piss-awful. If you'd've taken that crap off, I'd've welcomed you heartily. It doesn't even look right on the bloke, and you'd truly hate the wanker who DID look right wearing it, 'cos he'd obviously have a predilection for interfamilial sex and this man CHOSE to wear that crap on his head.
Got a flashback to a very early episode of The Sopranos, where Tony castigates some guy in a restaurant for wearing a cap whilst eating. His anger was entirely justified.

Successful people don't read newspapers beyond checking the business pages. Everything else is pretty much useless and brain rotting and the world will carry on spinning regardless of whether you had read it or not. Spend that time doing something else more useful.

My knowledge of current affairs is terrible. I don't read newspapers (aside from a cursory glance at the back pages), watch the news or keep up with any news/current affairs websites.
If it doesn't appear in Google Reader or my Twitter feed, or doesn't get mentioned to me, it passes me by completely.

Ed Miliband urges prime minister to sack justice secretary for suggesting 'date rape' is not as serious as other kinds of rape
How dare a politician suggest that there's a difference between a 17 year old having sex with his 15 year old girlfriend, non-violent rape (ie 'normal' sex where lack of consent was vauge) and violent rape! HE MUST BE SACKED!!!!1111
I get tired of everytime something that makes for a slightly dodgy out of context sound bite, there's calls for someone to be sacked.

But it was his statement that no one convicted of a "serious rape" would be released as quickly as those guilty of some "date rapes" that sparked a political furore as Labour leader Miliband challenged Cameron over the matter at prime minister's questions.

He absolutely says there that date rape isn't as bad as a "serious rape." I can't imagine many date rape victims would agree with that, I imagine they'd feel that it was pretty serious, actually.
Date rape also has a wide range of severity. For every case where a guy slips a girl some roofies, has his way with her then dumps her onto the street, there's a case where the girl had too much to drink of her own accord and regretted it the next morning.
His point was that all of these offences get classified as the same crime and people have a mental image of rape as being a guy threatening a woman with a knife and then wondering how you could get under a year in jail for that.

Off topic, but incidentally, a 17yr old girl can't rape a 15yr old boy. Weird, that.

Originally posted by toythatkills View PostBut this is misleading in itself. His example, a 17yr old having 'consensual' sex with a 15yr old would never be prosecuted as rape and so wouldn't affect the statistics. The underage sex that is classified as rape usually genuinely would be.

Everyone (apart from the Justice Secretary, apparently) knows what date rape is, and knows how it differs from Clarke's 'serious' rapes. I don't think anybody would be happy with an offender getting under a year in jail for any kind of date rape even knowing that knives weren't involved.

*Citation needed, but it's blatantly true.
