My tv got picked up by a tech today. Great to finally get its issues sorted out, but not so cool to be without it for several days. Good chance to get back on my CRT though, and I have the Castlevania GBA dual pack arriving in the mail any day now, so I guess I'll live.

I can't decide if this is an irk or if it brings a smile to my face for the sheer audacity, but we just got a letter from our electricity provider, apologising for a couple of recent power cuts. While they were happening the companies I contacted told me that I was the only person in our whole block that phoned to report the problem, and today's letter was sent to reject compensation claims that my neighbours were trying to make- so not only did they sit in the dark, doing nothing to rectify the situation, but they tried to spin a measly ?54 of compensation out of it too. I don't understand how people could be so brazen and greedy.

lolwut? We had no power for 3 days earlier in the year, but it's not like the electricity company did it deliberately or through negligance (trees fell on power lines).

Ours was happening because of a faulty component, but it's worth mentioning that these cuts were also happening after midnight, so it's not like people were missing out on much. I was annoyed because it meant that I couldn't go online for coursework research but I took it in good humour and read a book by candlelight until power was restored at 2AM. It's just funny because most people in my block would've been home by then but not one of them was resourceful enough to phone up and report the fault.
