Our neighbours behind us put up a new fence today and happened to put a lovely spike strip along the top of it to stop cats walking along.

Since I only have the use of my right arm I've adapted to opening everything with my teeth and working arm. This backfired today when a seemingly harmless crisp packet managed to take a rather large chuck off of one of my canines. Dammit.Comment

Ouch. I chipped a tooth opening a beer bottle once. Not smart. Did it for years without incident and then one day a cap didn't budge but my tooth did.
As for my current irks, after trying to save money, I have just had to spend an absolute fortune on flights and accommodation to go to a funeral and my family have been no help whatsoever when it comes to looking after my kids. I don't know what I'd do without my wife's side of the family - they're great, so I'm thankful for them. But it's damned inconsiderate when people just up and die on you without checking if it's a good time first.Comment

Satellite television.
The other week the signal went on both our skyboxes. Some bloke came out and replaced the thing on the end of the dish. It's worked fine for 2 weeks, but tonight it's back to its old tricks on the box upstairs. It'll have a picture for a few seconds, then do some annoying sub-Transformers bleeping thing as the picture breaks up, then it'll say either 'no satellite signal received' of 'there is a technical fault.' The picture may return for a few seconds before going all robot ****.
No doubt Sky will say it's down to atmospheric conditions or rain or some crap. It's 2011 and my tv signal is worse than it was 20 years ago. I'd rather have a snowy signal than no signal.
