He would have, but he'd just have given her a slap and told her to get the kettle on.

I'd like to agree that a general election isn't a popularity contest, but I'm not convinced.

It's ironic Churchill should crop up as he was an extremely bigoted man. Yes, he was intrumental in Britain and her allies defeating the Nazis and should be celebrated for the 'good' things he did, but he was a racist.

I am aware of Winston's many failings. I just used him as an example of the old school politician who would partake in such a ridiculous media circus.

It's clear that all the other Labour MPs are thankful he didn't get in the car and call her a ****ing stupid old harridan.

I don't have any issues with this, perhaps a inappropriate choice of words though. I certainly had my own thoughts about the way she acted but bigoted wasn't a word I would have used.

I certainly don't think it's unusual for people to make their feelings known behind the backs of people and that shouldn't be different for people who are followed around with microphones. Irrelevant of his job or lack of one he's no different to anybody else and shouldn't be expected to be.

All the TV crews fighting for her attention made me laugh though.

I think people use the term Racist far too easily , like it means nothing , and after all , most groups ... most people, will hold some prejudice views .

Lets remember Our Grandfather and mothers and this country offered their lives Defending freedom , and in the Process taking in thousands of Eastern Europeans and Jewish . The Irony of which isn't lost on me , more so as Israel is now one of the most bigoted natation’s there is , but there you go .

I think people need to stop using tagging the word racist , to everyone, that might hold some choice views .

It's a bit pathetic this whole thing. He made a booboo, lets get back to the politics.

The depressing thing is listening to that woman was that she's 'embarassed to be labour'. In other words she was still going to vote for labour even though she hated their policies just because "she's labour". You should vote for the party who's policies and MPs you like, not just stick with a single party for life.

It's getting as bad as people's blind allegiance to democrats or republicans in the US.

Very true , This election people have forgot , that it's not just about how well one does in a TV debate , its also about MP's and Front Bench , and ones Manifesto

                    He made a booboo
It wasn't a booboo, he said what he felt , and that's that anyone that dares to raise an issue over immigration, is an bigot . That's very dangerous , and very wrong . Coming from the Man, that likes to say British Jobs for British people , its also the height of Irony .

Does that mean if you flim-flam from party to party, you're not a real fan, sticking with your side through thick and thin?

Actually, it was because the US and UK refused so many Jewish people that they ended up going to Israel. For most of them it was a choice between returning to the countries and neighbours that had persecuted them, or going to live in the desert.

However, I do agree that Israel is bigoted.

I like the way they insist she's on the telly and not to talk on her mobile!

Blind allegiance is becoming a really big problem these days, more so with Labour as these days they are more little more than a conservative party in disguise.

All I'm seeing in this country right now is the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer and no one is doing anything about it.

I think this sums up how Brown's feeling today.

I feel the only thing Brown is sorry about is getting caught - Usual stuff there I guess, whether its a man cheating on his wife or the prime minister slandering a 30 year supporter of his party - It's alright though isn't it, because we all do it.

Everything is relevant to the context of the situation - He was bang out of order, and the grovelling apologies from him highlights it. I personally would expect more from a prime minister.

From what I have seen in my time on this planet, politicians show little respect for their electorate - This is just another example in a long line of things. The sad thing is, no one is surprised.
