I think it would have been far better not to have spend beyond the countries means for so long , Even in the so called Boom years , we were borrowing upwards of ?40 billion a year , and leaving nothing aside for a possible downturn

We're in a complete mess , and a lot of that is thanks to Brown own actions , not just the Banks

The weird thing about it is that he actually handled the initial conversation very well – better even than David Cameron did yesterday with the father of that disabled child.

I hope we don't see too much hoo har about this. Though I am no Labour supporter, I think it's this kind of micro-analysation that is killing politics. The future will be governed by etonian robots.

          Set damage control to full!

Who gives a toss about what they plan to do if re-elected, THERE IS A PENSIONER WHO IS SLIGHTLY ANNOYED!

I think its more his two faced behaviour that people are concerned about than the pensioner

"Don't kiss me on the cheek and then finger me in the ass" as they say on Spartacus.

His comment makes me laugh - 'she said something I couldn't respond to'.

Sorry but he could respond but chose to smile and be smug then slate her behind her back.

Having said that, we're being two faced by being annoyed about them being two faced

I'm sure there's hardly a person on the planet who hasn't muttered a couple of choice words under their breath after dealing with someone they found annoying.

                  I know I never would!

You expected me to put something insulting here didn't you!

I don't like Brown too much and have no intention of voting Labour this time around but, regardless, I don't believe he's guilty of doing anything that we all haven't done. Who here hasn't smiled in some one's face only to criticise them behind their back or think critical thoughts about them?

Lying tosser , 1st he makes out that he didn't have time to answer the question , now its that he misunderstood the words used , that after answering the question at the time . This Great leader can't handle a decent debate on the streets of GB
He's not fit to run the Labour Party, much less the Country .

Quality media smokescreen in full effect here. This is not really an issue and anyone who thinks it is naive. Are there really people out there saying "Well, I was going to vote for Labour because I agree with their policies. But now Brown has said that I will vote Tory!"
Come the election day I can only think of one person who will be remembering this incident as they cross their ballot paper.

Very true. In almost any other walk of life overhearing a comment like that might make you momentarily think the person who said it was a bit of a tit, but it wouldn't suddenly make you doubt that they were any good at their job.

Yet when a politician makes a small remark like the one Brown made, something we've all done, suddenly they become unfit to do anything.

There's got to be plenty , because until One TV debate, the Liberals were nowhere , that changed ; Just on how Nick performed in front of the Camera's .

The fact he's wasting valuable time avoiding the real issues going back to Rochdale and making a personal visit speaks volumes.

That what annoys me about modern politics. Churchill wouldn't have gone round to her house would he?
Well, if we all wake up a week on Friday and David Cameron is prime minister because Gordon Brown called a women bigotted then we deserve the government we get.
