Brown is the most useless fool ever to run this country, surely people can see past local history to get this goon out? Evidently not I suppose!
That he probably is, but the damage the Tories did to the North East still hits home hard today. Local history is what we have to live with from day to day.

so looks like Brown may try to hang on and form some kind of weird minority coalition, will anybody have ever served as many years as a PM without ever actually winning a popular vote, having inherited the job on a promise in the first place ?

can you imagine what's going on behiond the scenes now, this is going to be like a turbo charged episode of the Thick of It

That is because labour know the strongholds are inner cities north of watford gap 3 seats in stoke on trent (where i live) 10 i believe in birmingham and all labour.

I hate voting here as i know it makes bugger all difference which way i vote.

Im not a strict one party voter and changed for the first time this year , but still made sod all difference.

Wow, I never really knew how ****ed up our voting system is until today. The Labour/Lib Dem seat difference is ridiculous.

These election results are just depressing really. Labour could still form a ****ing government with Brown as PM, he has first refusal rights to desperately cling on to power. It would provide some amusement by pissing off murdoch but the prospect of more of the same is depressing.

Lib Dems have had unprecedented levels of hype but their popularity has gone done? What the hell?

So much for this being an exciting election, it just shows that we've a stupid election system and it seems an electorate that votes for the same party year in, year out because "they're labour/conservatives through and through"

How about the party with the most votes gets the government. A parliament where there is no clear majority is the best situation. No one can force through crap legislation, and the parties have to work to come up with ideas that take in to accounts all points of view. Might be a good thing.

Nothing too wrong with a minority joint government in my view. However the Tories only need a few more seats out of the ones left for a Tory + SNP government to be a feasible prospect which is something I really don't want (although I'm not sure they would ally with the Tories, the SNP would jump at the chance of having real power)

How about changing the ballot forms to add questions? Next to the box for your cross/tick, you'd have a few questions about their policies and if you get them wrong, you clearly know nothing about the party you have voted for and thus the vote gets rejected on the grounds that you are clueless and shouldn't be allowed to vote.

I reckon a car bomb would be the only thing that shifts Brown's portly ass from office now sadly, given how much he wanted the job before even becoming just as worthless a chancellor - a bullet would probably just ricochet off his frame!

What an absolute crock of **** of an election, you lost tubsy, you were an 'illegal' PM when you took office and you're an 'illegal' PM now!

                      Only in the ****ing UK!

Yeah, only 59 seats in Scotland and there's 58 alone in the 'Eastern' part of England?!

looking at that map I remain more convinced than ever that England should jettison scotland, NI & Wales, they are all revenue drains and distort the balance of an English only parliament massively.

plus that would automatically get shot of Brown.

Seeing how blue england has become, even though i was once against scottish independence, i'm all in for it now.

Did anyone else see the "Land is Power" candidate standing behind Gordon Brown in his area last night? Highlight of the night for me. He stood the whole time with his fist clenched (Black Panther style) and punched the air when it was announced he got 59 votes or thereabouts! I was laughing so much I was scared I was going to wake the baby!

I don't know about a Conservative coalition with the SNP. The Nats are rabid anti unionists and the Tories are the exact opposite. I don't think soapy Salmond would go for it. He resisted a coalition in Scotland even though they had a far smaller majority than the Tories have at Westminster.
