Yeah. I still fail to see any use for one of these things. The only person I've seen use one effectively was my last boss.

Great for meetings, a bit meh for everything else imo.

They're certainy not for everyone or every job. I think they're great until I need to do something that only a proper computer can do and then, of course, they fail. My wife uses one instead of a computer though with no problems and it's better than a laptop forr her because it's always switched on, smaller and lighter. I have no desire for one, or anythign like it either. A Macbook Air would be nice though.

Well my initial negative view - it's basically a giant iPhone - has turned into a positive. It's basically a giant iPhone. For me, I have my iPod Touch with me all the time. And I use it all the time. I use it for the web, for email and, with what I do, I use it for drawing on. I also use it for showing others stuff. Work can be displayed on it. All of that can be done with a computer but the handiness, portability and battery life make it the better choice.

But it's tiny and makes me blind.

An iPad does all that with a far bigger surface area. Yep, that means I can't stick it in a pocket and can't have it with me all the time. But it still goes into a bag with no problem. It's still light and still has good battery life. For me, certain functions become easier than they do on a computer. For example, I can doodle a picture with a pencil, snap it with the iPad camera and draw over it in the Brushes app. I am far more likely to do that than the computer equivalent. I wouldn't use a netbook for that because, really, it doesn't have the power.

As FSW says, when it's something only a proper computer can do, it's something only a proper computer can do. But I'm coming around to the iPad in a big way because, what it does, it seems to do really well. I haven't got one though.

IMO opinion its the greatest consumer device currently on the market. It's always by my side at home, maybe it's more to do with me being addicted to the internet but the speed switching between gaming, surfing & music listening....or a combination of all 3 is such a joy, its replaced my desktop PC and PS3 for their primary functions.

Can you use the micro sim from a 3G ipad in an iphone 4 and vice versa?
Don't look at me, I'm irrelevant.

I've got a friend who's a teacher, he uses his day in day out, lesson plans, presentations etc.
We use ours at home as a web browser, and for doing crosswords on mainly, plus the odd other game.

I've had mine a week now and TBH I'm finding it a bit meh. It's not that it's a bad piece of tech but I was expecting something more. Not sure what exactly but it doesn't have the 'wow' factor I was expecting. I think my iphone4 has spoiled me.

The ten1 fling pads neil2k posted about are excellent, they add a superb amount of control for iPad gaming. Excellent tip off mate.

What's the deal with iPad compatibility for the forum in Tapatalk?

I use Tapatalk to read NTSC on my iPhone all the time but I got an iPad 2 today and it can't be found when I search forums., or even browse manually :/

collected my brand new ipad from the shop today, sent it back an hour later because it had more dead pixels than the one I sent in last week. awesome!

This'll be my 4th one in 9 months when it comes back.

Finally caved today, after hearing that we now get discount on them. Not much discount, but enough to push me over the edge. Got the cheapest model, a black leather smart cover, camera connector and dock. Very pleased with the purchase so far.

Although as per Randicoot's post, I am also having issues with iPad Tapatalk not working on here despite it working fine on the iPhone. Bizarre-o.

5th ipad, I restore my 2gb sync and have 12GB free. 22 apps total some of which I don't even use. its basically a words/chess with friends tablet.

Wtf apps are everyone using? I need some, else this is being sold.

Please don't mention games, I didn't buy a touchscreen thing for games as its pathetic for 95% of them.

I actually use very few apps on my iPad. My usage is almost 100% web browsing and email using the pre-loaded apps, with an occasional bit of instant messaging. I mainly have it as it's more convenient than having the laptop lying around in the living room and it's lighter to travel with than a laptop.

Oh, I do use Slingplayer for watching telly on it, semi-regularly, and I just started using iBooks.
