Dark dot, is a great little freebie, and unlike most free stuff it has a lovely art style (the art is very reminiscent of rocket slime on the ds), its kind of a cross between pikmin and a vertical shooter, you draw a formation that you want your dots to stay in and you can expand, rotate and redraw this on The fly. The game moves you up the screen fireing automaticly, moving your dark dots about changing formation and avoiding oncoming fire is where the challenge lies. give it a download its super polished but a bit short 4 stages.

Just bought an iPad whilst on holiday - and went for wifi only. Have come back from holiday to find the wifi router has broken, so will be running on BB only for the weekend. Before coming home, I downloaded the Empire Magazine app and the new edition of the mag - however, this didn't finish downloading (was on free wi-fi Hong Kong airport) - is there any way I can download the magazine on my iMac and transfer over? It doesn't appear there is, but given that I'm new to iPads, I wondered if anyone knows of one?

I wonder if Apple will ever turn over the cart by releasing a product too soon to the last one.
At present, the iPad 1, 2 and 3 will have about a year between each version and I don't what they can do to really differentiate between 2 and 3.
Perrier lost a lot of customers when benzene was found in it, but they failed to talk to the press about what they'd done to sort the issue. Consumers were then anxious about buying it as they were still unsure if it was safe and the discounted price when it came back sent a message that it was no longer the elite product it used to be synonymous with. Whilst the product was off the shelf, people switched to other brands and Perrier have never been able to regain its pre-1990 market share.
Obviously, releasing a new iPad annually isn't a PR nightmare, as it's clearly what people want, but I am curious what the saturation level for iPads are and at what point the competitors' products rival or supersede the iPad.Last edited by QualityChimp; 17-01-2012, 08:41.

I would be pretty stunned if they released two generations of iPads in the same year. What I suspect may happen is that they create a two-tiered product to compete with the cheaper tablets. A low-end and high-end iPad, splitting the line. But even then, I'm not so sure it will happen soon. Totally guessing of course.

My prediction would be the same physical form factor as the 2, but with a higher clock speed A6 processor (possibly quad core to match the Tegra 3), and a higher resolution display. It'll be the display that sells people on it, if it gets anywhere near the 300+ DPI of the iPhone screen it will look bloody amazing.
People seem to complain often about the frequency of Apple's product updates. I love it. They can't update fast enough for me. I just want the latest tech to constantly be available as quickly as possible
The idea of a cheaper, perhaps 7 inch iPad is something I've considered in the past too Dogg, but as far as I can see there's just no point right now. The iPad already dominates to an almost egregious extent.
