No, it's just that US farmers can grow corm in their climate, but can't grow sugar. Corn farmers are subsidised by the government, which makes corn syrup really cheap.

It's horrible stuff though. I can't stand any US drink that uses corn syrup (which is most of them). There's a lot of processing that they do to the corn to make the syrup, including the use of mercury which has been found in some syrups . There's also some health claims in the US that corn syrup leads to liver damage.

My favourite soft drink ever has to be Fentiman's Curiosity Cola
Fentiman's are lovely. Not cheap mind, but worth it if you can find them.

        Ah Fentimans.

Speaking of Mountain Dew again, a Local Shop was selling Arabic imports of the stuff and I grabbed couple of cans of it and a bottle, the Cans tasted so much better, just like I remembered, where the bottle still tasted mostly like 7-up.

Awesome, awesome drink. I lament the day that Coca-Cola UK pulled it from UK shops and stores.
Same here, best flavour of coke ever - did you import the vanilla coke? Where from if so?

Having heard much of Mountain Dew and not having tried it when in the US I'd like to give it a try here although not sounding too good so far.

Cybercandy - They have stores in Islington, Covent Garden, Birmingham and Brighton. They also take orders online - awesome. Sadly, Coca-Cola Vanilla seems to be out of stock at present.

I've purchased individual cans and 12-can packs from them in the past. Probably best to do that online, though - in-store, they actually charge per can for the packs. Pricey, but worth it imo.

Having grown tired of waiting for Cybercandy to re-stock Coca-Cola Vanilla, this might be the answer to my problem. Has anybody ordered from these guys before?

I like all the Japanese **** they sell in Cybercandy more than the heinously overpriced drinks. Meiji make delicious chocolate and sweets
