Extremist Muslims? Puh-lease. That's so two weeks ago.

I thought it was NI in an attempt to divert attention from the hacking scandle?

I can totally picture Murdoch and Wade presiding over humiliating gang initiations before setting them loose on an orgy of destruction.

With MPs hanging around in back alleys going "I'll give you ?100 if you smash that window, don't worry, I'll claim it on expenses"

It has to be extremist Muslim Jamaican gangstas, surely.

I can just picture that smug, unctuous bovine Nick Griffin gleefully rubbing his oily chops together now and saying "I told you so!".

One goes to Northern Ireland and you see largely 'white' gangs have fun and rioting hiding behind the bull**** Religion excuse. So it just goes to show it's not a colour issues . Mind you I just get sick and tired of all this political correctness bull****.

We live in age that you can't highlight, that there are issue's for some groups, communities about the Gang and Gun Culture for fear of being branded a racist, but's its A-Ok for the likes of Diane Abbott on the BBC to say she's supporting Obama simply because he Black and that West Indian mums will go to the wall for their children, never mind this bull**** MOBO awards. If Michael Portillo came out and said he's supporting McCain simply down because he's white, that White mums move heaven and earth of their Kids Live on air. He's be out of a Job and branned a racist , never mind the outcry from the ethnic groups if we had Music of White Origin awards.

The sooner we take region and colour out of it, and have one rule of all (not matter your Colour or religion, Ethnic group) The better and easier it be for laws to made and enforced , and the less excuses they'll be for the ones that break such laws. I now see Wales has the Highest unemployment rate in the whole of the UK and NI and is again one of the poorest parts of the Country. Perfect excuses then for Riots then

The sentences being handed out are a joke. Nothing like a climate of fear to expel justice, eh?

These riots were pretty minor - things could have been a lot, A LOT worse. I imagine these sentences are to show that if, when, something like this happens again others wont feel inclined to join in on the entertainment for a bit of fun, for a giggle - it is in fact quite serious.

Im not saying I agree or disagree - i can just accept it is how it is - but I can certainly see the reasoning. To be fair, if those people didnt do the things they did they wouldnt have received any sentencing... Just saying.

Yeah, I understand why it's happening. They want to make an example of these people in the misguided hope it will prevent this sort of thing happening again in the future, but justice is a person being held responsible for their own actions. When you see people being sentenced to 4 years for receiving a stolen shirt, it's pretty clear they're being held responsible for the actions of others too. That ain't justice.

But what is justice? Have we ever truly seen it? Is there such a thing? Personally I don't believe humanity capable of justice, I suppose it depends on how one defines the word and whether we actually believe there is an absolute of it. Law may aspire towards it, but its fundelmentally flawed - always has been, always will be - hence why i think people finding these sentencing shocking a little ironic.

As I said before, I would deport them no jail time. Just refuse them to live in a social society. No matter if they where a UK citizen or not. Refusing things like job seekers or sending them to jail is pointless at most it shows a warning to others nothing else.

If true justice doesn't exist (and I think you're right, I don't think it does exist) that's no reason to give up trying to get as close to it as we can. Nobody will ever make the perfect videogame but that's no reason to churn out **** videogames, nobody will ever become a perfect human being, that's no reason we should all surrender to being completes aresholes, know what I mean? Just because you cannot achieve perfection, that's no reason to throw the towel in.

What seems to have happened is people are frightened, people have realised that society is built on foundations of sand, that it can all disappear very quickly, and that scares the **** out of them. And people don't think clearly in the midst of fear.

Well said Charlie, and i agree 100%.

Slightly off topic.... But on the way to work this morning I couldn't help but chuckle to myself overhearing too young lads talking about their repeated experiences of sleeping in a cell. 'Only twice last week - this weekend im going to demand a blanket. Its my right'. Love how being locked in a cell is just part of his weekend plans.

Not as good as Friday morning though.... I was listening to two teenage girls talking about their troubles of hiding their drugs when going into a hospital.

Nothing surprising or new.... but it did make me chuckle.
